  2. Hi everyone. I was just wondering what everyone enjoys the most.

Daytime, being any form of hunting, including fishing, ratting, hare coursing, shooting, hounds, bushing, etc.

And Nightime, being anything at night, lamping, poaching, shooting. etc.

I personally enjoy a daytime mooch about with my dogs much more than lamping them at night.

I find it more of a challenge, and more rewarding if we catch anything daytime, even if it is a single rat.

I just enjoy being out early morning, with the frost and dew and silently approaching the hares, or casting a lure out into still water.

I find nighttime enjoyable but daytime much more appealing.

    What do ye all think?

    What do ye prefer?

Which is more difficult and more rewarding?

    :hmm:

:hmm: I honestly couldn't choose, love them both!

  3. im gonna try to get out this weekend have a look at a ladder see if much has come up then ill be trying the flying c (red silver blade) and the tazzy devil a purple one and a red usualy decent enough in clear water .

have you been out yet bagforthebadgers ? catch anything and what on ?

    regards kris.

I have been out a couple of times so far this season, but have had no salmon yet, hopefully later on I will though. I have been using flying C's (red silver)

And on the fly pot bellied pigs in hornet, tiger, marauder, park shrimp those sort of patterns. I fish on the river tyne and it is quite peaty water so a bit of colour is needed but what does work well is small salmon hairwing flies, they do the job nicely and catch the fish effectively. Some people will say that they dont but from experience they do!

  4. Just wondering If anyone in the northumberland area on here does falconry. And was hoping you might be willing to let me and my cousin come out with you on a day hunting the the hawks, eagles, falcons, etc. I would be really grateful if you are able to as I am wanting to learn more about falconry as 1 day I hope to own a couple of my own, I have already got some experiance as I have done a few falconry courses and know the basics.

    Replies gratefully recieved

    Many thanks

    Jonny

Nice one mate, should keep the magpie numbers down until a new pair arrives! But you should catch them with no bother. Well done

  6. That little b*****d that is in corrie, right little fooker is he, David Platt.

Come on who is in line for a kicking.

the annoying devil off balls of steel. ad kick the f*cking shit out of him.

Funny as fook though you would have to laugh if you saw him doing the stuff he does! But yeah if it was you or me he was doing it too I would do the same!

  7. im after 4 fox tealers

will pay cash for item and post

    cheers mark

Find some good hazel bushes, with nice straight sticks and cut a load, the cut them to about a foot and a half long. After that put a slit in the top for the snare wire to sit in, if you want you could tighten it with a bit of wire tightened using some pliers. That should do the job nicely and it's all FREE.

  8. A few of you might know that main man has just got him self a couple of larsen traps, but aint having much luck with catching, the birds are about and getting close but just wont go in this is the closest that they come . he got them baited up, any ideas on why he aint catching ?????

    post-6341-1207516552_thumb.jpg

I've done quite a lot of larsen trapping with my cousin. We use rabbit and eggs as bait.

If we have magpies that are not willing enough to go inside the traps we try and move the trap further into the pairs territory. Then they seem more commited to going in. Good Luck with it!
