Maybe the original poster is in the western part of England. Where it gets lighter, later.
Could be, thats why I said it might be me.....
-
Same here, must agree with John on this one.
And, it might just be me, but I'm pretty damn sure its lighter than that at 5-6am easily............. not trying to get at anything else there but, up here it's light by then.

What are your thoughts on a good stalking knife? I am a female so only have little hands. I am thinking of spending between 100 and £200 on something special. any ideas guys on shape and size?
Regards caz
Why spend that when theres perfectly good knives available at a much cheaper price!
Check these knives out - Kuhn Rikon colori knife.
This knife is around £5!! Blade stays sharp, it comes in different colours, orange is the best as it is the most visible if dropped! Even if you do manage to lose it, £5 not too much of a loss!
Check it out.

if you are in the services, you can use your Standard Learning Credits to offset the cost of DSC 1. dont know of any civilian grants tho.
Ug
Hmmm unforetunately not in the services mate!! Would of been handy though.
Hows things your way I'm back to uni on sunday, but have been shooting all hols.
Cheers,
Jonny

Hi there,
I was just wondering if there is a grant which pays for the DSC 1 & 2, if it is manditory towards the area of work you do. I have heard you can but was just wanting a solid answer for whether you can or cannot get them. As it is in the job area I aim to be in it would be the sensible idea of getting the grant to do it.
Cheers,
Jonny

you went to newton rigg! Atleast you have the bug now theres no getting rid of it.
-
Nice buck there. Doesn't look like a medal from the pic, but it does look weighty!
The heads are different to the bucks round my way, the tines are right up at the top, whereas here its more evenly spread if you can call it that.
That second head in the picture is a nice one though.
-
This is one bloody deep hole he's digging!!!
-
Thats one nice head John!!
Pleases for you
After all you do a lot of work for all your clients.
Cheers

Job well done,
We get the fox for the guy and we don't have anyone wanting pups from either of the pups
Job well done!

Unlacedgecko the ability to spell is something that passed me buy probably caused by the amount of times i strayed away from school .The reason was the country side and still is some 40 years on. It dose not need to be tweed although that is the material i chose because of its durability. Any clothing that is silent and drab in colour will do.leaf patterns and the like have never made it into the forces shelves so for me its not the camouflage i would pick.
BFTB the FIRST LINE I WROTE ON MY LAST POST WAS WRITEN BY YOUR SELF AND WAS THERE TO PROVE YOU WERE WILLING TO SHOOT A RIFLE WITH LIMITED RANGES AT LIVE QUARRIE. (no excuse for this get the right rifle for the job )
Now your last statement eg (prick) was very very childish and certainly the action of a small child or some one with sub standard intellect. I hope you don't take this attitude in to your deerstalking were most have just a bit more between there ears.
Rifle with limited ranges?? It comfortabley shoots at those ranges and thats the max i will shoot it at, as I know my limits and thats were im comfortable knowing I can complete a kill.
I also have plenty between the ears thank you.
Also the army do not use RealTree due to the cost of it to make, as it would be too expensive to use as military clothing, not because it doesn't work.

THE ONE WHO WAS LIMPING good recovery eh!!!
He's obviously had his leg over her aswell!
Like you said he's got my name on him!! Im coming back!!
If I can't get back before the end of the season which I doubt as I start uni next wednesday, its going to be next summer for the buck but im tempted for some winter doe stalking!!
-
I like it, helps me when im out stalking and shooting,
but when it comes to lamping anything goes!!
Also depends what kind of shooting im doing aswell! But it comes in handy

Heart Stopping stuff there john!!
If only he was on your left hey!!
I should have some stalking sorted up here soon if you still want too?
that will be nice.
that buck is the one we were after in the rut hes a big lad eh???
Isn't he just. Is he the one that comes out at 9pm or the one with the limp at the other place??
Because if its the one with the limp hes recovered!!
Or is it another one that we were hoping to see....?

I've shot up to 150+ with it easily, and we have checked the ranges after the shot) Young man your name says it all its time you grew up and stated acting your age
And what is this meant to mean?
Honestly...
Edited to say: What do you mean when you say my name says it all?? time I grew up?? Act my age??
you prick

[i see the pictures were while out lamping do you really think that real tree helped I don't think so not one bit with regards the best has yet to come i hope so like your first hard on and your first legal drink and to realise that 150+meters for a rimmy at a fox is to far. Your the type of chap that foxdropper loves to take out because he can impress you with his vast knowledge and you can compare real tree patterns
Were you there when I shot them?? no They were not whilst lamping, yes the pictures may look dark, but they were not lamping. The 2 at the bottom were later that evening whilst lamping but the others were around 4-5 o'clock.
Did I say I took the 150 yard shots at foxes? no I said I can shoot to around that range with the rifle, I wouldn't want to try a fox at the range in case of injury, and it getting away. Its while shooting rabbits so, stop talking sh*te.
And another thing the RealTree does help, you can 'talk' all you want but you weren't there when and what happened! So again stop talking utter sh*te!
And what the hell are you on about my first legal pint and boner???? freak. Dont need to worry about those as im 18 you tit!

Wireviz......oh dear.
You tell me realtree does not work!!
It has worked in many many occasions for myself, heres a few photos of times when wearing realtree and the results!
Yes I wear tweed as well but for where i do my hunting realtree is the choice!
This doe was shot with me sat in amongst a bush walking towards me and only stopped to eat when it was about 40 or less yards away!
This fox was squeaked in just as light was falling wearing realtree again (and tweeds) on the legs, I was kneeling when I shot it, and again I blended in enough to get the shot!
The best is yet to come!
I was wearing realtree trousers the a green coat and a realtree backpack (which would stick up of the ground when lying down) oh and a realtree hat!
On some ground above mine was walking about and saw an unusual gingery/brown rock shaped thing down the fence line, thinking to myself that wasnt there last time I was here, and upon looking through the scope it still looked not animal like, i turned around and made sure the scope was shooting as I had set it before on a rabbit at around 90yards, bang on head shot. Turned around had a look down the fence to see the same shape there, hhoped over the fence making a bit of noise and when i looked up theres a fox sat up looking at me now luckily where i had walked down from the fence until I noticed the now known fox was looking my way , I stopped dead and slowly knelt down and watched, the fox was still sat, not being able to get a good shot off the fox being around 110yrds (even though some of you may start asking thats far to far for a .22 lr your wrong, I've shot upto 150+ with it easily, and we have checked the ranges after the shot) The fox finally slinked into the wood and I lay down just in the plain field of grass and squeaked, no longer than 40 seconds later theres the fox walking right to me about 30 yards away, by this time I had stopped squeaking and it kept coming until I took it at around 20 yards. The fox had no idea I was there!!
Here is the result
Same night may aswell post them got another 3 (onyl got a pic of the last 2) so 4 foxes for the day not bad going
