  1. I have worked lurchers for a long time , i have worked genuine collie greyhounds 1/2 and 3/4 breds, for 25 years or more .

In my honest opinion i have wasted 25 years .

I wish the malinois breed had been more accessible and bred with greyhounds or lurchers many years ago.

The cross is not what you think ,hypo, aggressive and noisy all comment from folk who have not seen the cross  let alone owned the cross.

Until I owned the mali/grey i also would have had the same opinion.

To be honest the TOTAL opposite is true ,i have found them to be laid back , intelligent ,very loyal   in my short time with the cross not a single issue has arisen.

As to their working ability .. " i have wasted 25 early years " but I have had fun.

That is all i have to say .

Well all know the saluki type crosses are unmatched all round running athletes but now I've got the need for speed.

Come on boys, tell me which is the faster lurcher you've ever seen run? Greyhounds not included obviously...

The fastest dog i ever saw run is now dead ..............speed kills ................................eventually

Bailing twine from farmers gate on way out

Found these today whilst sorting my nets out , i made the end two they are actually quiet small , they never sprung open and worked well , the other two i bought they were rubbish ,

I only use a length of webbing now , simpler ,safer and no problem if lost or gets a bit chewed up .

I was born and bred in England and i have every right to walk any street in England , what  gives minorities the right to claim an area call it a community then reign it with absolute violence towards any other people .

ps , times are far different in Oldham than twenty years ago ,

Government have just said 20 thousand Afghans to be resettled in the UK ?

That is correct 20,000 however another 10,000 under another scheme how many schemes have we ,  all designed to hide the actual numbers arriving , thats all well and good but which areas are they going , some areas no longer feel like England , i live near to  no go areas for white people , and if you are in any doubt about that i challenge you to walk through them ,

No doubt the state pension age will be going up again. I wonder how many of these refugees will be taken in by Muslim countries though I do support those who have directly helped our armed forces should be given sanctuary in this country.

Its the other way around we helped their forces built up and trained their forces , however they did murder our soldiers whilst they slept in their beds . Unditered we carried  on , soon as we left the taliban comes out of the woodwork ,and the afghan soldiers all run and say its not safe and want to come to our country , what a load of cowards they should have stood and fought for their familys and country , they wanted us to do their fighting now they want us to house and feed them in our country , As a proud English man i would stand and fight for my freedom and counrty my grandparents did ,

The Egyptian/desert greyhounds and most successful saluki bred running dogs are with all probability the best hare killers and gambling running dogs to keep?Certain field sports individuals who are actively involved with their dogs, coupled to the fact they are those who genuinely work their dogs and are keen honest handlers who loves the thrills and spills of coursing the hare use the aforementioned animal with subsequent claims by these saluki strains and crosses for in my opinion purebred importaded purebred saluki are the ultimate to use and breed from due to the fact the bloodlines are very much stronger than the bloodlines that have been used for literally dozens of years in the UK today. Evening lads,

wondering if anyone can shed a bit of light on this as my pup has the above condition and i am obviously concerned about the longevity of his working career or if it even worth entering him!??

    gutted is an understatement!!

ive put alot of time in and he has taken to most thing very naturally, he’s got a great temperament and showing great potential, i just cant see him lasting very long the way his hind legs are. Is it worth a try or should i start again?? any advise from anyone with experience would be helpful and appreciated.

    ATB thanks in advance

Obviously the dog is cow hocked , but i also notice it has week looking wrists also its shoulders look very straight , i wonder if it has to stand awkwardly when feeding from his bowl . The life of a working lurcher can be a hard one and a  dog needs to be sound of limb if it is going to be worked as intended if not it will soon be found out . I hope you resolve your dilemma .

  12. The purpose of a lurcher is to catch game , they dont know the " true and only purpose to coursing " and coursing men judge a lurcher by its ability to kill a hare..in fact all hunting lurchers are judged on what they catch/kill , if they are for hunting and dont catch/kill they often find a new home.
