  1. I just like to see dogs hunt for the sake of it. I used to carry a gun but then got hooked on watching them do it for themselves. If anything does flush id rather it be to a lurcher. the bell idea sounds good cos sometimes you cant see these teckels either though the bitch is startin to speak on fresh sent.
  2. They are dachshunds that work as far as I know. They have very good noses and some will speak when on sent , but ther are others on this forum who are more knowledgable about them than me.
  3. No out of einblick by ice. Sire goes back to insel and avril through his sire. Do you know much about the breeding?

  7. lost 6month old teckel today after she hunted into tall rape. she returned to a sweat shirt id layed down and some food after having to leave the farm after two hours of waiting and calling. I returned two hours later with my son to find her just where she had left me. She had taken the food and otherwise looked fine. that was a long four hours. I thought maybe she couldnt find her way back after hunting. Needless to say im a beginner with teckels.
  8. Does anyone know this site. www.freewebs.com/darswed teckels/new.htm
  9. Landywoods are good but if u find a local slaughter house with a shop attached thats best. Do a bit of shopping there for a week or two before you start asking favours though.
  10. DO YOU MIND . Im on a diet and now i feel hungry after reading that
  11. That is what i call priceless advice and deadly true but i would like to add if you are determined like a terrier then you will get somewhere eventually. DONT forget to brush youre teeth to get the shit out.
  12. I thought most people didnt bother because the dog is knackered after a good course and can soon take the edge off a dog. I usually do when theres not much else about. One knight i had two bitches on one and it went on forever. Turn after turn in a small area because she was near where she wanted to escape. both bitches (experienced)were taken for a long ride and were made to look like fools. The next afternoon one of the bitches was slipped on a hare in the same area with a eighty yard start and caught after three or four turns.I think hares get better at lamping like dogs do.
  13. good wheat straw.barley straw is softer but heads can irritate.quality of straw as not been good this winter due the late harvest we had.

  19. I used to bush with just a small pack of terriers which is great fun but you could always do with more nose so ihave finally got a teckel bitch she is 5months. this is my first after thinking about it for two years. Im hoping she could hold a line longer than aterrier. Is it true you can kennel more than two together?

  21. thanks to all for the welcome messages
  22. hello im a new member. im mainly interested in bull lurchers and terriers for hunting on top and below.i mainly go out with my son. lamping and bushing are our main interests. we have just aquired a teckel bitch and been reading all the comment about them, but what i wanted to know was can they when matured own a line better than a terrier and do most speak to it.
  23. hello im a new member. a bit shy of computers. im into bull lurchers and terriers of all sorts for hunting on top and below. we have recently bought a teckel so ive been interested in reading all the views about them.
  24. I have a teckel bitch pup 5months. I wanted her mainly for bushing with aterrier pack but i want to know if they can hold a line better than the average terrier. she is proving slower to catch on than the other pups she is running with but im sure the penny will drop.
