  1. Gaz came down to visit this weekend,....so as usual we headed out owht the lamp. We had planned a lamp and follwong day ferret session, but sunday went to pot, luckily we had a goo run on the lamp. Took Flyn, and young Coco out who impressed me when i saw her run in Nov. Well Flyn needed a run and i didnt know if her would be like a loon or if he had truely settled down. towards the end of last year, he had come on leaps and bounds, but Ive been disappointed in him a little now tia is back and running again, she puts him to shame a little.........but it doest take the fact away fromn f
  2. A long line of different collie greys in the mixer, but all of known back ground She is 4 years now and lives mith my dad. About 30% collie the rest grey hound. I am running her aunt at the minute, but keep offering my dad a home for this little beaut he has ....he says "no boy!" I've been caught dreaming again........ Still, maybe i have the makings......... ........if i can get the rest of the ingredients right
  3. .........I've never thought of her legs as spindly.....just her whole frame racy....as is her brain!!! and at 25/1/2 inches, she suffers on the turn....not conclusive to a good bunny bagger!! But still ok This is my type of collie cross.......with a few pounds weight taken off .........23 inches, solid and fast
  4. We have a3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie from his puppy farm at Home. I took her on a 5 months from someone, after the damage had been done. She is a great looking lurhcer, and very determined when running.........but her brain is "out there".......and not focused on me, so she is hard work whenever we are out..........She is four now and just settling. I cant blame hancock for this......i more the previous owner ........but her temperment is sound and she is no trouble to keep..... ....so here a couple of pics as requested. For me, its too racy a collie cross with no coat.....but e
  5. Sitters appear to be the ideal run for young dogs......i dont hold this opinion. Like you have stated, they get up and normally feck off quick time!! Most sitters the dogs dont see until they move.....So you send a dog unseen onto a bunny thats gonna give it a run for its money.........no wonder alot of lamp dogs struggle for confidence Pick an unsure bunny that is clearly visible, well sat out and heading for home slowly or dicking around......makes sure the dog is sighted....then give him a run! I think the odds will be in the dogs favour ....You may have to wait a while (new sea
  6. Ive been lucky enough to work the dogs that way. Cracking sport and plenty of rabbits! I do however like to get out and "find" good spots......its part of getting out there
  7. Mark. Regardless of the rights or wrongs of when to breed, if to breed why to breed. You want fire, small size and some stamina......... And i know why you want the fire.........I would look for a decent wheaton cross in the region of 3/4 running dog, 1/4 Wheaton. As for Cat not doing charlie.........she may in time once she matures a little .....or grows old and grumpy!! Look at how Lady changed this season
  8. Cheers chap........ I knew someone would remember. Just so folk know......i am not Mark or posing as him, or a puppet for him......I am younger and better looking man without the hair die .........but he did do me a favour with Tia the other night by giving her a night full of rabbits. Good news is she wasnt stiff or lame the next day,......and the muscle feels free for further running so thats ideal!!!
  9. Headed over to Cornwall after I asked Mark if I could run my Tia on his rabbits following her recovery from a muscle tear injury on the inner of her hind leg…..the muscle (I cant remember the name) that takes the strain on the bends. Well she has not lamped at all this season and only started ferreting with me and longnets in Jan after a being laid up since Sep 07. I am pleased to say that she muscle held up…..and more importantly Tia wasn’t wreckless……making some cracking strikes and stopping rabbits dead in their fleeing tracks!! For a collie cross at 25 ½ inches, she
