  2. I'm from canada, new to snaring, and agree, thats quite a goofy video, do you think one of you gents could make a short vid, to set the world straight? i'd love to see one from the masters!!
  3. I have a racoon and 3 squirrels that are all nicely salted up and drying well. Now this sounds all good, except for the fact that i have no idea what to do now. I would like to tan these hides for myself. I do not intend to sell them. So how can i preserve these hides, and make them supple leather? any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Just got our first squirrel today!!, caught it around the midsection, a rookie move lol, but we'll get'r figured out. anyways, we're getting some racoon snares soon and i was wondering if you gentlemen had any tips or pics of sets that you have made.
  5. you can set snares anywhere there are runs , i snare them running up the vertical faces of dry stone walls at times its quite easy onece you gain experience . and you don,t set snares between the beats , you set them right across the middle of the beat . snareman how do you set up a snare in the middle of a field? do you use a wire hoop or a stake and tealer or what?
  6. Basically if you can see the runs just treat it like a grass field. I think you would have to use the GSW type snare set up as anything else would be a bit obvious. Take care pal, ian. What is a GSW type snare?

  8. okk thanks alot, i'll put them higher, any other tips or tricks? ive been attempting to snare for about a month and its getting sort of frusterationg lol but i guess if i payed closer attention to snareman's instructions it may be less frusteration
  9. had a lil trouble catching squirrels, took a few pics in hopes that you guys could help me determine my flaw this one was on a branh leaning to the ground from a tree, definately was hit this one is leaning way over, i know it wasnt left like that, but doesnt mean a squirrel hit it i guess this one's leaning over too this is how im setting them thanks for all the help in advance!!
  10. cant buy a cable snare so am having to resort to brass snare wire, the only thing sold around here will 21 gauge be enough for coons?
  11. how many squirrels have you got so far?? how do you set your snares and where?
  12. well we set up 12 of these today we didnt put the snares on so that the squirrels can get comfortable with 'em we'll snare 'em up in a few days we baited them with bird seed...do squirrels eat bird seed? ;

My Cousin and i live in BC and are both 16 we have become very interested in the art of snaring at his farm we have observed many squirrels running from the woods, along a fence to more woods we set up a some snares on the fence and have had no luck we have tried snares with a bent over sappling and trigger aswell as a figure four and toggle leghold snare we have been hard at it for a month now to no avail we are using 25 gauge brass wire and have not dyed or dipped it we just made the snares any help would be appreciated, we really want to learn more about this because we also ha
