Mate if you value your ferrets DO NOT put your ferrets on rat, If it comes across a female with babies it will get cut to pieces. It MIGHT win the fight but you will have a vet bill DON@T DO IT. :thumbdown:

All ditch said is correct.Just for interest throw I have known RATS,RABBETS,fOXES and BADGERS all to share the same living quarters. I have also found that an experienced ferret wont enter a badger set they don't like to enter a fox earth eather but if they do,be very careful when it eventually comes out your ferret will be a little on the wild side. :icon_eek:

No offence compo but i have favored polecats all my life for there greater speed! and dig rarely, where do you get your information.The only plus for a white ferret is they can be seen in the undergrowth when they leave the berry before all the rabbets have bolted,( to often).

The next 6/7 months will seem like a life time but I'm sure it will be well worth it. Far better than buying the ready made thing. Good luck :victory:

hi para 1 i have seen a smimilar thing on a rabbit .the clear gel & the little white eggs wasnt sure [bANNED TEXT] it was so cut it all out & gave it to my mate to give to his birds of prey but do now after reading posts davy Thanks for the replies All I used to feed them to the ferrets. Anyone recommend a good ferret wormer. Panacure is a good wormer you can get it for most animals. Yes i have heard of that much appreciated

I don't know where i should post this, but here it is. My ferreting partner and I have come across sick rabbits in the last couple of years and wondered if anyone else had seen it,s like. Today we caught yet another bunny with the same problem We operate in the Berkshire,Hampshire Surrey area. This is a doe pregnant with four young, not unusual I know. But she had a large cyst type growth on her shoulders filled with a clear water like substance inside that is what looks like white eggs, I have found as many as four of these cysts on one rabbit. Aaron. I don't think this would be a legal or humane way to use a Fenn trap. Fenns should be used in a tunnel where the height is restricted to prevent the target species from being catapulted out of the jaws resulting in a leg hold or similar. Leg hold traps are illegal in the UK, and I'm sure there will be people visiting this site, who don't have our best interests at heart. We owe it to the animals we trap, to stick to the law, and always treat them humanely. I must say that I agree with you hole heartedly But I just hate the word BAN it would be nice to make life better for the "poxey" chicken There are a lot of things I would like see changed but who would listen to me para1 (did anyone actually look at Boar & pig Hunting with dogs??)

Nobody is taking away your choices, there are just some things which are wrong and this is in the eyes of most one of those things; there will still be plenty of chicken around for you to choose from......and not all at silly prices. You say you don't care about how its produced, only the taste; with an atitude like that how will you ever persuade or show anyone that the sport and way of life you love is good and worthwhile? I think this i what they dont realise they could buy a organic farm we cant afford a 30 pound duck or a 12 pound chicken espessialy if you have to feed a family . They get it free oh thr high life....
