  4. Cheers Pennymeadow, how's Missy doing? Missy is spot on mate & catching plenty Glad Missy is doing so well for you; I know you love the breeding as much as I do, hope she just keeps going from strength to strength for you.
  5. She was a cracking little bitch on the lamp, really made the rabbits squeal and they couldn't shake her off but she was so finely built that I was scared that sooner or later, the places I ran her, she would have a bump and ruin her. Hadn't planned on getting rid of her but Pennymeadow asked and I thought she'd be more suited to his ferreting than me spoiling her on these rough old mountains round here. My other Whippets are a lot stronger so will probably keep one back from this litter to replace her, but at the moment am really struggling for rabbits round here so we shall see.

  10. [ Alright mate, his father was a full saluki and his dam is a first cross whippet x greyhound, he stands at 27 1/2" , a few lads off here have seen him run, he was good on every type of quarry day and night (preban) Sounds like a handy cross, definitely done the job for you.
  11. Some pics of Blacky and Zak, parents of Darren's Sally.
  12. verey wise he done the job well for you good luck with the pups mate.
  13. I will ask my misses to put them up to moro mate bet you thort she would not help with hunting pics she loves it now.hows sams foot ok for saterday i hope?
  14. Couple more pics of my Whippets, now I've figured out how to upload photos! Also a couple of pics of a litter of pups I have at the moment. They are nearly 5 weeks now and I still have a few available if any-one is interested. PM me for more details. They're out of Jake, my blue dog and Penny, my blue-fawn bitch.
  15. My one bitch did get a little bit hard-mouthed after running a few pre-ban foxes and hares doubled up. Also didn't do her retrieving any favours but the other one is absolutely fine, still retrieves live to hand every time.
  16. I'm from Aberdare, so not too far from you. Exercise-wise, all dogs are different and all people have different ideas but my preference is at that age at least a mile on the lead once a day and whenever you get 10 minutes spare to let them run free on the local fields, that's a bonus. Little and often at that age, no need to overdo them as they've got years of work in front of them. Mine started on the rabbits at around the 12 month mark seriously, but had chased quite a few around patches of cover before that. Hope this helps! David
  17. Glad you like them, thanks.
  18. Here's a couple of pics of my dogs (pre-ban ). Thanks to Rio for showing my better half how to get the pics on here! I still have no idea myself!
  19. Cheers Luke. Whippets can sometimes be a bit underrated but they are cracking dogs. I also work Lurchers so I can see the differences between them but there's certainly no stopping these little dogs once they get behind their quarry.
  20. Cracking pictures , ive got a whippet coming up to 9 month now cant wait to get her on the rabbits! what lines are yours? any tips for me on starting her working? you seem to have done a good job with yours. My Whippets are Sooty Sam/Laguna/Drakesoak lines. If I can be of any help with your young one I'd be glad to. Anything in particular you need to know?
  21. My Whippets are Sooty Sam bred also. I like that blue dog of yours, bet you had some fun with him before the ban What other crosses are in his make-up?
