  1. A mate has got the Fenix & is well pleased, but for around £20 more you should be able to get the Carbine version with a silencer, which I think is a better bet. It'll be fine for what you want at the ranges you want. Full 12 ft lb & a walnut stock to boot. The quality of the mainspring can be a little suspect if you're unlucky but otherwise I have heard no complaints
  2. The gas ram is the HW90
  3. I think BASC membership gives you about £10 million quidsworth of third party cover. Why not have a look at the website?
  4. That's a mighty generous Dad you've got there That's £640 quidsworth of gun plus another couple of hundred on the charging kit, plus the optics So don't drop the F-cker! I have a pleasant manner & a full time job, would your dad like to consider adopting me? In fact, just tell him I'd like the limited edition Timberwolf please. LOL

    pellets

Doubt you'll find any difference in terms of point of aim. Like Air Arms Field / AA Tru Hunter, one is just the pointy version of the domed jobby. A quid a can more for the pointy ones if that matters to ya. LOL
  6. For info', Myxi was first spotted in Uruguay in the late 1800's but deliberately introduced into Australia to quell the, out of control, rabbit population (a lack of natural predators) First tested in 1938 in Australia then a full scale release in 1950. Introduced in France & found it's way to the Uk by 1953 via "natural routes" but then propagated to increase it's spread.
  7. If you're a landlord in Stannington i'm surprised you can even afford pellets! LOL Hare & Hounds is shut, The "Top House" has fortunes that are up & down like "a whores drawers" The only 2 farmers I knew locally sold up I used to shoot in the fields at the back of High Riggs plant nusery 30 years ago when a mates grandad owned the farm. Born on School lane, but not lived there in 20 years. You might have to go knocking on doors
  8. [What] about the spring-loaded carrot? Rabbit bites into it & 2 bolts shoot out from either side. If it doesn't kill it outright, the bolts sticking out stop it running back down the hole He he. Joking aside, I can't see it would work but most interested to see if anyone else has even tried it

    new rifle

Can see why you kicked the missus off the settee to make way for the gun. LOL
  10. Settle it like gentlemen Handbags at 20 paces.LOL
  11. I still have my MK4 bought in 1974 when I was....well much younger than now. My first gun. Did a refurb' / renovation job on it last winter & gave it a cheap set of 4x32 Mildot scopes as a present. Christmas day saw some cheeky tw-t of a squirrel sat in the tree shucking peanuts & showing me it's a-se. Well you can't let 'em get away with that can you? Gave the squirrel a present too, right in under the left armpit (heart & lung shot) dead instantly & fell like a rock. 30+ years & still delivering the goods!
  12. OOpsy, mixed up my Roman numerals & thought it was the Mk4 rather than the Mk5. Same advice on where to look still applies.
  13. If it originally had a pad fitted then that made it a "super meteor". The plain vanilla flavored meteor of the same date didn't have a recoil pad. The Mk 4 was produced from 1974 onwards & we're now up to the Mk6 If it's an original part you're after try http://www.airgunspares.com/ The new website is still under construction so just phone them. It's the site for John Knibbs & Co. Mr Knibbs senior is a former BSA man & knows everything there is to know about BSA guns & could probably tell you what gun you've got & year of manufacture just from the serial number. Their
