  1. I’d be happy enough if i could find a whippet/grey that works that would suit me ideal. Then i’d line her no probs but hard enough trying to find one. Mostly track dogs, which isn’t a bad thing but a working one would be ideal. Will just look like a deer x grey but slightly smaller i’d of thought
  2. Using the Bull x as the example here,Same applies for saluki X etc etc. But as someone else said previously on here it’s a long waiting game to get the exact breeding of a dog you want
  3. I’ve never done a litter before. But a guy i know who’s had dogs for years which used to be mostly deer greys said to me that if am doing bull X over my bitch i’d be best starting off with a deer grey cross keeping a bitch back proving her then doing a Bull x down the line. As it’s a much better base for a lurcher line and will help down the line. As i said im a bit more new to it and never had a litter before
  4. . If she was a deer grey instead of a purebred i’d 100% of went 3/8 5/8 if i had a good one to use. Then not too much deerhound that way
  5. mine seems to be robust, she can take a knock quite well, can’t speak for greyhounds,My first deerhound broke his neck at 11 months when running though. The bitch i have now is completely different to him she has a bit more go about her.
  6. cheers for the input anyway lads. Still feel like deer grey would be the best bet for a base , but will wait and see down the line what happens cheers
  7. I will be, but showing all good signs so far
  8. won’t be for a while til i breed from her, but wanted to get a plan in place
  9. Yes young and not done a whole lot. But for purebred deerhound and being 16 month i’m very happy with her. Was never bought to be just a worker she is a big pet, but want a lurcher with her as the dam . Hare rabbit n rats she’s done so far. Love deerhounds have had 3 so far, well aware other dogs out there that do the job a lot better
  10. need to be a racey one, but bull x over a deerhound might not have the speed or stamina am thinkin
  11. nice saluki bull grey or saluki wheaten grey over her be more what i’d be after but then again be skeptical to what the pups would throw to
  12. she’s not a cross, she’s a pure
  13. Coursing bred would probably make the most sense for the ground i run aswell . Will see what happens, cheers for your input peeps
  14. fucknoes lads. A racy bull X would be my favoured cross, Not into saluki’s much but can respect a nice one still and there capabilities
  15. that was another option , grey / whip don’t know of any good uns tho
  16. Probably just go with the greyhound then i know roughly what the pups will come out like, then add stuff down the line
  17. u not reckon that be more greyhound/deerhound x bull/grey
  18. same. It’s a f****n cracker
  19. i always thought a nice racey 5/8 3/8 bull grey would of made good pups with my bitch, but a was put off by people saying could throw back a lot to the bull, and no gas tank aswell
  20. Haha , the white death, who’s this ?? i’m new to this site mind
  21. Too much of a risk what the dog could throw to tho? I’ve been told it can throw to anything almost when u put more than one breed. Cause she’s a pure deer a thought be aswell doing straight grey, then cross again down the line
  22. yeah would be a stayer then mate
  23. a don’t know a lot about greyhounds, what does stayer mean when it comes to them?
  24. listen mate u got a greyhound for me or not haha Ps option B
