  1. There's abit of size difference but you couldn't tell her that thanks mate..
  2. I like them full of beans, he tried to claim the blanket but she fought to get her place.
  3. Best bet would be a true to type whippet the father of my pup 19 1/2tts mother 17 1/2tts, from what I researched there alot more sound than ig
  4. I have looked at Italian greyhound there far from a whippet more lap dogs as today's standards but I don't dispute they would have been different a 100 years ago
  5. I get you mate all breeds has added other breeds to make line what it is, a outcross can't be bad in long run the coursing dog does well to go back to pure once in a while to keep blood diluted same as any line bred dog
  6. My pup goes back to mike browns dogs on working side moonlake ñimrodel Laguna on coursing side and oakbark pencloe dutch gold showing side but when you look at pedigree all go back to tiptree dogs from 20s 30s can't see no missed pedigree in her breeding and she's true to type mother 17 1/2 tts so not so sure on bull added. But I believe bull and terrier was added to greyhound to produce the whippet at the start
  7. Don't mind the craic mate and thank you I'll do my best by them see what's what
  8. Best I ever had was a pure saluki x line bred coursing dog back to saluki bull whippet grey bitch she could kill them on any land and get stuck into anything f/r
  9. I seen vids of the mother of my saluki x pup does more than hares and both parents kill hares on fields and fen so no one trick ponys, If they both make the grade I'd like to put the dog over the bitch but I don't think she could carry them given the size difference..
  10. The whippets got no bull in it got the papers going back to tiptree dogs over 125 year of lines but she seems game as they come.. also like a saluki X had a few In the past that take more than just hares, like I said horses for courses I like both
  11. This pup only a little thing but thinks she's twice her size got some good lines in her pedigree going back to a few of mike browns dogs and a few good old names of the past, she should do ok for what I got her for if she takes bigger stuff it's a bonus
  12. I like both types mate I had good and bad coursing types in the past and this first pure whippet I owned but I seen good and bad ones of them as well it's the luck of the draw but I do know for there size the whippets are game little things that's why I opted for one, this pup shows no fear when playing with the big dog pup shes a little fireball
  13. Yes was a good litter breeder done them proud and both parents well bred and doing the job on field as well as fen so should be chancy
  14. Totally agree mate I wouldn't have bought one if I thought it was only good for a pet.
  15. Never had one not come back mate, some just leave them in Kennel till 12 months old and take them out except them to come back you gotta bond with them bring them on like any other lurcher
  16. Everyone has there beliefs but I done and seen enough in the past to know any breed can be driven if bought on and entered right the whippet no exception. Thanks mate
  17. I get what your saying about the saluki X I had a few before I took a brake from the dogs couple out the dan dog Jamie dog bulldozer franny all high prey drive all quick enough in my eyes but I wouldn't want to lamp that type on little grass paddocks golf courses local and expect to take them to arable land in the day as well, not saying they won't kill but alot of dog for the job that's where the whippet comes in for me good little dog to take my boy out lamping and mooching and Ive seen a few very driven whippets and crosses if they see enough game like any other running breed
  18. Dunno mate I like both types it's horses for courses my whippet will be for small fields just local mostly lamping the saluki x will be for day job doesn't mean they both can't serve there purpose
  19. I find 2 ok to deal with kenneled seperate fed separate but I'll walk and bring them on together get them out round cover and that aslong as recall good I'm happy, My last dog didn't live up to expectations, I wanted something older but couldn't find anything, who sells a decent prospect this time of year so thought I'd put my time into 2 pups through the winter until next season.
  20. They get easier but mines abit nutty at the minute not gonna lie lol but most pups are at the start
  21. they get easier mines abit nutty at minute not gonna lie lol but most pups are at the start
  22. A lot of people under the assumption they just rabbit dogs but I seen a few go that are alot more than that, it's not the size of the dog in the fight but also the size of the fight in the dog
  23. She looks a very nice bitch mate, my old man always had small dog pre ban they would take hares day and night so they can deffo punch above there wait not just the rabbiters everyone thinks. Hope she does you proud
  24. Thanks mate, yeah there great little dogs proper characters. I don't think she will be big mum was 17 1/2tts dad 19 1/2tts but perfect for lamping rabbits my other pup for the day job but I wouldn't be without her
