  1. Yes mate two out now and one now in Pip and in the Hatcher . Just had a Goshawk down and looking rough in the aviary, she missed a egg a couple of days ago but is still standing for semen so I feared the worst that she had gone egg bound...

she was pushing as if she was either constipated or perhaps a egg stuck but either was getting more and more stressed as it went on, I took the decision to syringe some Liquid Parafin into her and felt the Lump inside her and milked it out! this is what finally came out which must have crippled her! I have had this before which is either a Calcium Ball or just seriousley bocked up...

she looked pretty releived to get that out and Hopefully on the mend now but to be Honest I reckon it could have killed her...

    Tony

bloody hell mate :icon_eek: hope the gos is ok,ive a feeling you just saved her life

  2. who is cruella? does any body have any pics of her :whistling:

mate sorry no pic but you know what a few day old barn owl looks like you have some idea :D

    thanks daz

  3. Like it..... I BLOODY LOVE IT!!!!

You are a gentleman sir, excellent work yet again!! :clapper::clapper::clapper:

For anyone looking at this post I cannot stress how good these collars are! I do believe all he says on the above post.

I was lucky enough to meet Strong Stuff early last summer where he 'kitted' my Bullx dog with one of these (the photo is from the day after he got it), its had 12 months of 'graft' on it now and its as if it was bought new (apart from the mud!).

I've never been 'shy' with buying good quality collars and leads for my dogs, these are the best I've seen or used.

Keeping Bullx lurchers for 15 years, the importance of keeping a dog secure, either whilst another is running, or when crouching against a hedge watching a pair of red eyes flying down the field can save you soooo much bother and for the latter, those big 'D' rings are great for grip or slip!

For all the people on here who have 'strong' lurchers (bullx or not) or any type of dog that requires a fair 'bit of bondage' these collars are ALL YOU WILL EVER WANT OR NEED!!!!

    Thanks again Strong Stuff ;)

i think i was with SS the day you got the collar, and thats one cracking dog to go with it.

i shit you not ive got some of the first collars SS made some time ago,i am talking years and once clean there as good as the day i got them

    thanks daz

  4. Nothing surprises me mate there's some seriouse Rude b*****ds about. I went down to a big Breeders in the late 90's who had some youngsters working there for him on some schemes! I was there picking up a Gyr x Saker but while I was there for some reason he wasn't happy with the way these two young Girls was gutting the chicks, with that he walked over to one snatched a chick of her and threw it down on the floor in front of her and called her everything, she was a kid of about 15 and I thought then by f**k I wouldn't have had him speak to my kids like that Job or no job.....

There's plenty like this mate which is why I can't be arsed with a large majority of them! Most old school guys are top men who I give much respect but some others in the game with the money behind them jumping on the bandwagon I wouldn't piss on if they was on fire ;).....

Millets one of the good guys mate! sound as a pound but I wouldn't want to be in the woods with him after Dark :whistling:...

ok tony i think your right mate treat people the way you would like youself,

funny you say that about millet he spoke very highly of you too mate,

it was SS who saw millet and said he thought it was him,so i asked him if it was and had a bit of a chat,as you say seemed a tidy lad to me.

    thanks daz

  5. whos been today, what have you spent your hard earned on,did you have a good day.

i went to get the merlin ultima telemetry, well happy with that,a bath and a few odd bits.

i meet a few people there, cruella di vil was the first one,i had my misses, 10 year old lad and little girl with me at this time,we went into a owl rescue tent where the kids wanted to hold a owl for a pound, there were loads of signs saying hold a owl for a pound.anyway out comes cruella looks me up and down looks at my little girl, alice my little one says "may i hold the little owl please" by now my lad arron has a glove on,cruella looks at alice and says "you will hold what i give you",i looked at my misses who said "give her that bloody glove back",i took the glove off my lad threw it at her and told her that is no manner in which to speek to children and in particular my feckin children.i am sure we can all be a bit shitty sometimes but with someone elses kids.

well after that i meet up with my old mate strong stuff who after i told him the story about cruella wanted to pretend he wanted to hold the owl so he could get close enough to her to remove her wig.obviously he didnt do,all the same hes a rum lad.

then ss and my crew met millet, very nice to speek with you mate and molly who i dont think comes on here any more.meet a few other people and really enjoyed the rest of the day.

    thanks daz.

  6. :icon_eek: your a rum lad sounds to me like you got a bit to much spunk of your own mate.

come on share some more pics of your eggs etc.

i better re word that :icon_redface: , your birds eggs,i dred to think what you will put up otherwise

  8. Brilliant stuff.. :victory: .. get out with that fellow through out the season and you will learn a lot more hand's on experience than any book will learn you..aslong as he know's what he is doing..

    Millet

i would do, but he lives in cheshire. i met him whilst he was down doing the BPCA course withh me.

i was concidering going on a course with a recognized organization.

the good thing is my Mrs is keen to get started aswell, not for the hunting side of things, but just to get out & fly.

    rich

my advice for what its worth mate, would be to find some lads to go out with and save your money, i am not saying dont do a course just you will probably learn more as people do things differently and you can make your own mind up which is best for you,as a bonus you may make some good friends,i found that there are some genuine tidy blokes out there willing to help and there full of info, thing is they will help cause they want to,not because they have to.

hope you find someone to help
