  1. If it was me , I would keep him away from busy dog populated areas for the time being ,try and befriend someone with an older calm bullet proof dog and meet and greet on a one to one , if pup starts playing up , end the meeting and walk away, distract with treats or squeaky toy , tuggy… what ever gets his attention most . If you can’t find an older dog , the; try and find somewhere with less dogs and keep a distance away from any dogs but keep them in sight …. On lead dogs only …… distract before your pup sees the other dog , again treats ( not normal really smelly special treats just for walks ) or toys etc ….. keep the dog focused on you , not the other dog . If he responds to that gradually  move to lessen  the distance between dogs when you walk still keeping his attention , when he’s not that bothered then try introducing, if he plays up walk away , try again a few mins later , if he starts , repeat walk away … if he gets too much or keeps playing up then leave completely and try another day or on next walk …. He should get to click that only when he’s calm can he meet and greet … also he’s at that age where he will only listen when he wants he’s an unruly teen at the moment , stick with it and he should calm down with time and persistence…. Others may disagree, that’s just the way I deal with pups playing up … good luck

You'd be better with a coursing bred than a bull cross  ? ??

What if …….. I put him over a coursing bitch , loads of people walking their lurchers around and about ?….. I could find a pretty one and then I’d have lots of puppies and they’d be the bestest surely ???

That don't matter I only said that 2 look cool infront of the others, if u fancy it I'll come over your way for a night ,if you got an off license by you we could have a stand outside it ,then you could have a stand and sneer at folks outside an off license down this way

I’ll skip on that kind offer thanks mr black neck , I’m usually tucked in bed with a hot chocolate by 9 , maybe daytime  costa for a coffee and cake

Well he's only 7 month so no no need 2 bother about him being in shape plenty time for that this winter when you start him on the lamp

I wouldn’t know where to begin tbh and with my anxiety I’d be worried about him coming back in daylight let alone in the dark , he’s got a  strong prey drive and is very Kevin and Perry at the moment but he’s a quick learner (when he wants to at the mo ) it’s more the trainer that’s lacking , know what to do on paper but can’t pull  it all  off when it comes  to practice on certain things .

Christ on a bike dad that's a chunker lunker

Is that good or bad lol  ?  .He can move when he wants too but prob that’s more me because I’m more used to Rottweilers and German shepherds oh and little miss jrt in the first pic , he’s probably not quite as trim as you all keep your dogs either, but  you can feel his ribs and he dips in like he should at his waist .   ….. the greyhound whippet just  doesn’t seem to be showing much ? … he is more lunker than lurcher … I’m gonna steal that and tell people he’s a bull lunker ??

  6. F@@k it , up for a laugh , I’m a bit of a stalker , and since asking for a bit of info , which in hindsight was a bit of a no go ,have enjoyed  reading the banter , the squabbles (although not really sure what’s going on half the time , but it’s better than Corrie ) and mostly the informative posts ,interested in certain aspects , more bunnies, but only reading about it , wouldn’t dream of letting little man on one ,unless you can catch them on lead?  …. only ever taken ferreting once resulting in a lost ferret and nil in the bag and a crap shot with my air rifle so sold that …. Newest designer breed a bull lounger 28 weeks ,20” tts and 25kgs / 55lb  ….. lays around a lot , kills toys , ladies love him though ? … no need to reply … I’ll get my coat ?

I wonder how accurate that really is

The DNA is quite accurate, I knew some things such as dams exact  breed and a general idea of the sires breeding ( knew it was a lurcher ) … the height and weight not so much and  is based on averages on various calculators  but as he’s 20 weeks today 18” tts and 14.5  kgs it’s within the parameters?

Hi , have just got a puppy which is apparently XL bully mum and dad was a lurcher of some description,,mum so say escaped and hooked up with the lurcher down the road.a couple had him and had to get rid as social services wouldn’t let them adopt their granddaughter with the pup in the house  as it was a bull breed   He’s 16 weeks old , he was got as a pet, not for any other reason ,but was wondering if anyone had any. Thoughts or ideas on the sort of size/ build  he will end up,appreciate it’s hard with a cross breed ,but loooking through some posts there seems to be some very experienced owners so thought this would be a good place to ask . Many thanks J

Those XL Bulldogs are all shapes and sizes, and the lurcher could of been anything from a whippet cross to a deerhound cross. Be hard to say

Thank you ?  , I’ve managed to get a pic of the mum who is not over wide , but quite tall , and am still clueless as to the fathers type , so have taken a dna test to see if it sheds some light on my mysterious little man who is now 18 weeks , 10.3kgs and 17-18 inches tts

Not that anyones probably remotely interested lol,but I had the DNA test done on my boy  and the results are back , he should achieve a height of around 24” tts and a weight of between 50-80 lbs and has a special gene which causes  extra muscle mass and bulk to the back
