Those 30 years havnt been spent perfecting anything though have they Bernardino .

Its good to see you engaging and facing up to your shortfallings rather than blanking me .The sights on the nose are made all the more easier to wear by blokes like you that seem to feck up on  a regular basis Bernie .

Ive got all the T-shirts you have plus a few you can only dream  about ,starting with the one that says “One shot ,one kill “.

PS ,you never answered the post I wrote about no respect for shooting a deer with open sights at 130 .

Please feel free to engage the topic .

Good to chat mate ,talk later .

Piss off dickhead I don't owe you an explanation for anything.

Tbh Mark surely it’s about keeping it real .The getting slathered is just what blokes do .Getting arsey about the piss taking that follows or feeling offended is childish and smacks of wanting a cuddle .
It happens but if you or I did it regular we’d be asking why wouldn’t we ,I know I would .Quarry reaction is also something that some struggle with .I’ve seen an experienced stalker put another into a roe buck after it stood briefly after a death run shot clean through the heart .You know I know that buck was dead on it’s feet .That  fox Bernie shot with the 17 was dead on its feet .

Do enough and these things become second nature .
When shooting fallow on the cull locally I’ve shot a beast that has made a death run and shot another before the first has hit the deck knowing for certain what’s occurred .Confidence in kit is the key to ability Id say .

You still going on about that you boring twat? Your like a stuck record blah blah blah.

I've got the t-shirts on all the stuff your doing now 30 frigging years ago you fool.

Change the record you boring git. Just how does someone end up like you, fitting sights on your nose so you can look down on every poor b*****d that happens your way?

Only kidding, I think your the best and I can only dream that one day I'm as good as you.

If you mean do I need a second shot from time to time then yes occasionally mate but I honestly can’t remember the last time on a deer but on a fox it was just before Xmas which I wrote about on this very forum .The regularity you seem to f**k up on is a bit  worrying though mate ,either that or you just don’t know when something is dead and dosnt need another .

The chopping and changing of firearms you seem to use is not helping your marksmanship Bernie .

I use the same make of rifle for everything in different calibres .
I don’t have any complex about f***ing up mate .It happens but I’d be questioning myself if it was any regularity .

Ahhr, that's really kind of you, your worrying. I've noted it and I'm going to file it away somewhere for reference.

    My arse!

Go ye ahead Bernard .You won’t offend me mate and let’s be honest your shooting is rather shite of late .

Shite it maybe but thems still dead all the same. Nothing to worry about this end pal.

just between you and me, would we ever hear of you cocking it up? I mean, I just don't believe you've never had something go wrong, which I'm ok with, it's just, well I'm wondering if there is just a smidging of pot calling the kettle black etc.

There’s something therapeutic about sitting in a room tinkering away

I’ve not had the.223 that long and it’s the first time I’ve owned one, I cleaned it properly and what a dirty round that is, it looked like I’d been shooting coal bullets through it

It's probably just graphite added to the powder mate. Used to control the powder burn speed and lubricate the barrel, amongst other ingredients.

Yes they are Compact Ben, I use them on all my guns including 22lr and hmr/wmr. They have on two 007v units produced the best image, we tested on MTC scopes which were shite and not that good on Hawke Vantage / Endurance.  I do prefer the Airmax Compact to any other scope I have used for normal use but of course it must be said that I have not tried any of the expensive scopes as they are too rich for me anyway.

I understand some top end scopes have infrared filters which impares  NV performance.

Well this fellows luck ran out tonight. He came into the field from the furthest corner around 7.30pm. By seeing him on the camera and at various locations on the farm we managed to plot his pattern of movement. We surmised he would enter the farm where he did and that it would be early in the evening and he didn’t disappoint. Spotted with thermal shot with n/v, a really wary 14lb dog fox that won’t be killing any lambs this spring.

  8. Fed up with tec today. Got the cz 455 set up for the NV add on and got it zeroed so that is ready for any night duties.

Went and relocated the trail cam and bait on the small holding after taking the bloody Wulf that incidentally kept freezing all morning, to the post office.

Grabbed a shotgun and buggered off out the way feeling miserable.

I walked to a thin slang near to where I had the fallow buck last weekend, by the way it's delicious. Actually when I got to where I shot it the other deer have worn a path to it across the stubble field!

Anyway, I'm sneaking along looking on the sun drenched bracken and yep just rounding a gorse there is the unmistakable colour of a fast asleep curled up fox just a mere 20yds away.

I loosed one 3" BB into it. You'd think it would be enough wouldn't you! Nope lifted his head so shot again. That kept him down.

So far I'm not overly impressed with BB for fox. Both I've shot recently with them have needed the second barrel.

So dumping the tech and going old skool paid off and it felt gooood.IMG_20230305_155147.jpg.f4d41be5f3cc605504b194a16fb97b44.jpg

The Pard NV008S LRF features an all new compact design, inbuilt 1000m LRF and integrated ballistic function for...

Pard 008S lrf mate. Ideal on rimfire.

I've rigged the 455 with a reach forward and going back to the wee sytong. It's took plenty and never played up and now it's in a more natural position .

    Posted the Wulf back today.

Not going there again! Every NV scope I've borrowed or had on trial has been shite! I'm not wealthy enough it seems so bollocks to it!IMG_20230305_132430.jpg.51e075bca900fec8ca39bae87c265886.jpg

Oh right, I didn’t realise that.. so I’ll have to hopefully see if the dealer will offer me a part exchange, even though I’m not buying the new rifle off him, there and then. If the variation takes a while to come through, I could be weeks or months without a rifle, as I would have to sell or dispose my existing rifle.. then apply for a one4one variation. Thanks for the information, I’ll look into that.

Or tell them you need and why you need an additional rifle.

So, I was back up at the sheep farm tonight as I’ve got a problem fox, I say problem but the problem is it’s seems more intelligent than me ( not hard) I’ve spent a lot of time up here in February and have accounted for 5 foxes ( which is a lot for up there) and some other stuff but there’s one that I just can’t get, it won’t come in to any call and is always around the buildings or in front of the sheep, so over the past 3 nights I’ve been baiting a paddock at the back of the farm, now it was on the bait last night but as I approached it slipped through into next doors field, so tonight I thought I’d take the HMR and sit on top of the bails overlooking the paddock, well 4 and a half hours I was there and it didn’t show, I did see a fox way over on the wheat but I don’t think this was the one I was there for, I was hoping to get it before the weather changes this week because we are forecast snow

Yep been doing that my self lately with a cleverclogs. Does your freaking head in stav.

  12. Hmmm. To do a one for one variation you have to dispose of one first.

The form will ask you for details of where it went then ask if you wish to do a one for one.

You will not be given authority to purchase before you have surrendered the other.

If you want an additional firearm you will be asked for a good reason why you should be granted the addition.
