That’s reason Iv never bred a litter lurchers, Iv had few decent mutts an a few folk will tell ye so. But when ever I ask myself the most important question in breeding, can I source as good or better else where, I’m never as kennel blind or naive to think mine would be superior so Iv went an got summat in.
With you all the way on that but did have a bitch 20 year ago that I still kick myself for not taking a litter off Just didn't have the contacts to find a suitable sire.
what makes it worse iv never had anything come close since.

I personally wouldn't run a dog to young but i think the main thing is getting it catching. NL you have great ground and your dogs are catching from the off, it is constantly missing educated rabbits on difficult ground that can get them yapping more than age i think. Getting plenty of gear in its mouth from the off i don't think beddy x will be anymore likely to end up yapping than any other x. I like a bit of beddy in. Just my personal opinion though.
I agree not likely to yap anymore than any other unless given to much to soon, but the few I seen were yappers, I did mention prob down to owners but I wasn't taking any chances with him.
Got him at 6 weeks been in the field from 7 weeks, slowly slowly all the way with him, picking everywhere I been to compensate having this youngster along with the bushers.
Couple of easy rabbits pushed out across long grass meadow started him off for few easy catches.
Works round the cover well anticipating a bolt and few green bunnies on the lamp to get him going.
All good so far cheers

She is stunning
right lads i refurbished this rifle from the out side in
polished the hell out of the internals fitted a new spring and redone the stock
and fitted the butt pad .
the bluing was not the best if memory serves me right for some reason it would not take very good
the lad wants a swap for some thing lighter
He is not bothered about selling it
atvbjimmy
I'm not worried about a scope either, iron sites is all I need, just find it easier type of shooting I do, not out to make any money on this just after something lighter in good working order, not worried on looks just sound working and capable of knocking over few bunnies, pigeons and squirrels.
Shame to put it away and not use it after the work Jimmy put in so be nice to do a straight swap and for someone to get the use out of it.
Like Jimmy said blueing all but gone other than that she still sound cheers

haha over the hedge like it lol , like you said on the other page , one to one dog , then the same with the other, once there responding then try the 2 dogs together . funny thing i was talking to bloke who only keeps beddy and beddyxs , he told me you never get that response to recall, like you get with your herding xs you have now, Bryn always quick recall, and Buck as well , ok when he sees or scents his quarry he piss off , but rather have that than a dog not really trying . he right really on the beddyxs , when i thought about , my dogs never really take there eyes off me , where his dogs hardly looked at him when we were walking the dogs.?
One blokes opinion don't mean Jack, got one here bang on recall, wouldn't have it any other way, bit of a sweeping statement eh lol
