If there is a problem it will rise to the surface at some stage. Wife and I we're out with the spaniel around the orchards, through the trees I saw 4 young girls so I put the spaniel on the lead because she tends to bark at strangers. Suddenly this staffy appeared and charged us like a rocket. Spaniel and me got bowled over and staffy started on spaniel. Wife got nipped on hand. I got back onto my feet and staffy received 4 full throttle free kicks to ribs with boots. Staffy lay down panting. We were so surprised by the attack we didn't question the girls about who what where. We just wanted to gain space before it kicked off again. If I had been armed I would 100% have shot it out of hand. Contacted plod about it and they recorded incident and said if I found out details to let them know and that I would have been within my right to do what was necessary to stop the attack. No one wants this to happen but if this attack had been on a woman or child out with their dog the results could have been very serious and very expensive. Luckily my dog didn't sustain injury but there could have been some heafty vets bills which I would have passed on to my insurance to collect from the owner of the attacking dog. Not a nice experience !
Actually don’t think you would of been within your rights to shoot a dog attacking your dog while young girls are around on an orchard .i agree bull breeds can be a problem and 99% of the public shouldn’t be aloud to keep them but I know a mate of mine had his dog shot by a farmer and farmer lost his licence even tho the lad was on the farmers land .the law sometimes works in weird ways .dont really see the need for staffy as pets or companions anymore where there are a lot more dogs of less aggressive breeds out there that would fill the roll of companions

Terrier blooded dog .apparently they are crosses of smooth fox terrier, old white smooth terrier ,jack Russel type terrier that the old English and Irish minor immigrants took over .they were also used in the rat pits when gambling was rife .the black mouth cur dogs are a nice type dog wich are made up of hound and herding type dogs as well as some of the native dogs

Best outcome for public and the deer was for it to be dispatched out of view of the public .there was police presence there surely they could of sent all the onlookers up the street while the deer was dispatched.letting that stag out of that garden could of caused a big road traffic accident causing loss of live to innocent road users .safest thing was to dispatch it there and then but not in front of a huge crowd of crying anti,s

500 pound for a working terrier is nothing . By time you got a pup 250 ,inoculated 50 feed it for 12 month before you even tried it your well over 500 .

Just out of curiosity what would be the price of shipping a dog from the states and what price do squirrel dogs fetch over there

Think a spaniel whippet or a spaniel x lurcher (21 tts) would make an ideal mooching dog for someone who does a lot of daytime work around sets ,be it ferreting or trapping snaring and every little bit on the lamp.
be ideal for a ferreting man who worked hedge rows /reed beds / wood lands

Plenty of lurcher will tree squirrels.once a dog has had a nip of a squirrel I find that the dog has a real desire to destroy every squirrel they see which makes for some good viewing

I was then about to say. Yes I have found a local range. They have days for beginners on the first Saturday in the month so I will bite the bullet and go. I just find it daunting but it's got to be done. Will post how I get On.Ask at gun shop if there is a local gun range for pellet guns you'll meet like minded people and be able to try out different guns.

Got a job coming in on a site where I need to set live catch rabbit traps. Not used any in a long while are there any you gentlemen can recommend and how you go about bait. Last ones I used where the like traps which were place at the mouth of bury and left open so rabbits would use them daily then after couple of days would set the tra. Had good numbers with these but no longer have them .
Just heard on the radio about staffys

So you don’t think a 70 year old woman having a staffy as a companion dog is a bit silly ? What happens when it attacks another dog.im fairly sure if she had some fluffy little lap dog that scared of its own shadow she’d have less stress than if she had a staffy that wanted to tear chunks out of anything that moved.a bull breed in the wrong hands is just the same as a gun in the wrong hands it can cause a lot of damage.
