I have just got an 16mnth old Dog that was sired by a match dog called JJ (Ithink) does anyone have any info on this dog? CHeers

GEt some Le Chameau boots, with a zip up the side you can zip them up when its cold or unzip them if you get a bit warm, also any boot you go for go for a neoprene lining rather than leather as it takes ages to dry and gets really sweaty and cold. Also after owning hunters and switching to CHameuas i would never go back to hunters. Regards

It is in there manifesto to repeal the Hunting Act

Mate, in my opinion that would suit him down to a T. He just does a bit of rabbiting and ferreting so should be spot on. Anyway thanks for your replies good luck with your own dogs

Thanks a lot Royston, it is hard to express emotions on here so if it sounded like i was getting arsey it was now way intended! I was just curious as these were rabbits that he would have caught on antoher night. Anyhow he is having time off now! And there is a wheaten cross coming in a few weeks which i will be able to use to satisfy the youthfull enthusiasm! Cheers again and i think my mate is seeing you sunbday about your bitch pup, he is the one who saw my pup on the big ears so you ask him about it! Cheers

Thanks again skycat for a level headed response, i like your pup, he is similar to mine. Royston, cheers for your advice he is having a break now, but my dad has had lurchers for over 30 years and he is giving me guidance to. Fortunately i dont think he will be a yapper (i think this is more common in whippet types, is it not?), and he has made several kills in cover and hedges, he doesnt pull up. But like i said thanks for your responses everyone. Cheers all

Do you think his breeding ought to make him a better day time dog? He has accidentally been behind one big rabbit, when i was walking him with a mate of my dad - he was impressed, the pup was turning it all over the place, offf the wood, off the hedge, my dads mate grabbed him as he was went through the hedge as it was a large field next door and he didnt want to break his heart on it. Like i said it was an accident and he wont be running another for a good few months. Cheers in advance

Thankyou very much to to everyone for their responses. I am going to give him a lay off now anyhow as he has broken a nail. I was just surprised as he has been out and had 2 out of 3 runs and stuff like that, he just didnt seem to have the strike last night. I know i should be waiting i am just rather impatient. thanks again everyone for your constructive comments. Cheers Here are some up to date pics as of this morning

Hello all, i just got in from a night out on the lamp, bit poor really. the dog had 2 rabbits (both had myxybut still ranok) and then missed about 4 others. i would resign to the fact that he just did shit although henormalyy does better.the thingis he was running these a last rabbit brilliantly, turning themoff the hedge an all that but he just would not commit himself that last 1% andstrike. he ought to have picked a couple of them up. any ideas whats up? I know he is still yuong aand i am taking it steady its juat tinight was a bit wierd. Maybe he will makea better daytimedog...? th

I know a lot do, not all though, not everyone can afford the luxury of having a kennel set up or have the space to make it a viable option. Like i said i am keeping an eye out for a pal, he only has a small plot and a small house, hence the need for it to be house trained and for it to be a small type. We have kennels at home with most of the dogs in, but i keep my sal/grey up the house sleeping by the aga! Anyhow, thanks for your comment i think i am waffling now! Cheers

I am aware that it is a bad time of the year to be looking, however, I am looking on behalf of a friend, for a working lurcher bitch around 22". MUST be house trained. Breeding not important as long as good worker - Day or night. Will have good permanent home and will pay fair price. Cheers
-
Thanks for your quick reply mate. Unfortunately the mates wife is being rather picky about the size of the dog and your bitch will be JUST a bit o big, soiunds like a nice bitch though.

WHat with the minature russell, 5/8 3/8's about the right age and the right geographical location, not to mention the joining date.... Like i said i dont intend to souund mean, just a few coincidences

Hello people since the hunting act has been in place obviously the waterloo cup does not take place in England any longer. Am i correct in thinking that it now takes places in Irleand? For some reason Killkenny rings a bell? Regards
