It's human nature to question things when they crop up unexpectedly, I don't think I'd be any different. If you were happy with the work I'd gift the coloured pup away or PTS. It may be a throw back, it may be bullshit breeding, but as I said the work should be first and foremost. I agree work should come first.I didn't do any breeding so I didnt get any white dogs. Was just looking to hear opinions on of to happened to you. Would you question your blood line.
-
you don't have to be a smart ass. All I'm saying is a breeder shouldn't lie about the ped. And besides I wouldn't want that dog..thanks
-
And if your trying to start a line you don't want to start with a cross. At least I don't.
-
Imy asking if you had pats that you were told had no other breeds in it and they turned out white or black and tan would you believe the breeder or would you know because of the colors being white or black and tan that there was other blood I it? Or would you tell everyone, HEY GUYS I GOT WHITE PATS FOR SALE! AND THE OTHER HALF OF THE LITTER IS BLACK AND TAN! There in lies your problem IMO genuine terriermen should not be interested in selling dogs. Terriers should be given & got for free amongst genuine lads.. this I agree with. But when it comes to dogs we shouldn't lie about the peds
-
If his line continually produces workers what is their to question? If you have any doubt all you can do is ask to see the dogs from his line work. even if a breeder has workers what does that have to do with having others breeds in the blood? Russell and Lakeland work. If you want a pat then it should be a pat. If you want a Lakeland it should be a Lakeland not a crossed up dog..unless the breeder tells you it has it in it and you still want it..

What some of you are saying is that if you went to a breeder for a Shepard for a dog to protect the family and it was crossed with a Mal and the breeder lied about the breeding it shouldn't matter as long as it protects. That's nonsense. And every time you keep breeding out side a line you get inconsistent litters. And then when you bred a different bred to another bred your taking a gamble on how they will turn out.thats called a mutt. Might as well go to the pound and pick a dog. And I believe if a breeder tells you how the parents peds are they pop up traits of another breed I think that's

I agree working should come first never said it shouldnt. I think you missed what I was asking and took it to another place. I ASKED IF YOU WERE TOLD THERE WAS NO RUSSELL OR LAKELAND IN YOUR BLOOD AND WHITE DOGS POPPED UP OR BLACK AND TANS WOULD YOU QUESTION THE BREEDER? It sounds like some of you wouldn't care if the breeder lied. Lol. That it shouldn't matter..well it should matter..
-
yes there very well may be some other blood way back in the ped. But when you get so many gens back it shouldn't pop up..some call it a old throw back I call it excuses for there line not being true..jmo
-
dillydog, I meant to say what if you were told there was no Lakeland or Russle in the blood and it those type popped up. Would you question the breeder? And I see a lot of folks say that there could be Lakeland or bull or whatever back in the ped. But after the 4 gen on back wouldn't it be so distance that you would have to win the lottery to bring it back up to the front? Or call it a fluke..
-
And I'm not saying color should matter, what I'm asking is would those colors tell you that there is other blood in the lines? Like Russle if it's white or Lakeland If it produces black and tans. Because I always thought a pat should be black or chocolate not white or black and tan.and if a breeder tells you there is no Lakeland or Russle in the blood and you breed it and out comes those colors would you question the breeder?
-
dillydog, yes your right a good worker is a good worker. But what if you were told there was Lakeland or Russle blood in your line and it did produce a white or black and tan? Does that tell you someone lied about the blood line of dog? Because if those 2 colors are considered a pat shouldn't there be a lot more around then?
-
What would you do if you bred your 2 pats and out came a white pup? Do you think that's possible? Would you keep or breed those dogs again? And how do you feel if you got black and tan pups out of a pat litter? Just curious to see what others would do. I personally wouldn't keep it or do the breeding again. In fair there was jack or something else mixed in. And is black and tan a common color in pats? Haven't really seen it. Or is that considered a Lakeland? Curious to know what others think..thanks

Starting out, nice looking bitch you have..

How can you say that? For a bodybuilder diet is a big part in getting the look they want. But they still do cardio and work out.if things was as easy as getting great cardio or a bodybuilder body by just food life would be easy and everyone would look great..and yes bodybuilders are unhealthy..
-
Aeron, do you really believe -90% of fitness is diet? If so then all a pro athlete has to do is change his diet and he's good to go? If this is true then I need to yell at my coach after all these years of making me work my ASS OFF! Lmao.diet plays a big role don't get me wrong but not no 80/90%..that leaves 10% for work..makes no sense. Anything that exerts energy should have some type of cardio work done. From running the field or playing ball or flirt pole work, treadmill or whatever.I wouldn't take myself off the couch and go compete and I wouldn't take a dog that's sat around for months d
-
Dead eyes I agree with you. I box and try my hardest when i compete to have as much air as I can and hope the other guy didn't pUT in the work I did. When your out of air your mind plays a funny game.you can be the best but if you can't breath your worthless
-
Some folks work and don't have time to run the dogs in a field everyday.and the mill is good exercise and not every dog will work the mill, it take a dog that wants to work. And it's just a extra conditioning tool that's all. I'm making a Jenny for mine. It's just good exercise while they work to get to the quarry on the other side.some would call it drive building.
-
It's Def not the same as a walk or a run. The dog has to do the work and you can ad resistance. There is a purpose for hand walking and mill work. There both great and both serve a purpose. Jmo

The rpm millmaker has a long long waiting list and then there some folks who never got there mill..HPR,your setup reminds me of the older dog trotter before they went snap together aluminum. What's the wait time if one wanted 2 for small terriers and what do you think shipping would be here to the United states?
-
HPR,could you please get me a price on 2 for a small terrier. I really like the designs you guys have and nobody that I know of over here makes them small like that..thanks I appreciate it..
-
Nice mills hpr!! Do you also make them for the little terriers? And if so would you ship it?
-
I believe there are great dogs in every country. But I believe here in the states and Mexico is were you will find more game dogs then any were else..and I also believe that if you scatter bred your dog's you lesson your chances of getting anything good..I would never scatter breed anything. You lack consistency and will loose the traits you like. I think line breeding is the best way to stay consistent..
