A Few Hours With The Lad.

Recommended Posts

With the cover still up and the weather still warm I've been doing a bit more fishing than usual so i decided to take the lad fishing again. We got up bright and early to get to the fishery at first light though it was quite brisk at first it did warm up quite quickly and turned into a beautiful day weather wise, though the lad and the dog disturbed a wasp nest and got stung a few times but apart from being uncomfortable they were both fine.

I got the lad set up on the whip to get him into the swing of things, Kane was into small roach and gudgeon again and was catching quite regular at first.

The fish then dried up on the whip for him so I set him up on the same set up as me which was a small method feeder with 2mm krill pellets and a 6mm pellet as hookbait, after a few hiccups with casting he slowly got the hang of it though he was missing lots of bites he stuck to the task well and was rewarded with a mirror carp which gave him a good fight.

I was into fish for most of the morning but when the sun came up it warmed right up and the fishing got hard with nothing really showing all over the pond but all in all a good day with carp to 5lb, the next time i take the lad he can go straight on the rod and get him used to recognising the bites a bit better.
