  1. Thanks I'll have a look for that and yeah I'm her third owner that I know of since leaving her litter
  2. Thanks guys glad to hear that, she seems settled in today, still trying to figure her out myself sometimes seems very puppyish still then other times more matured, also seems a bit stubborn or deaf as reacting ot even taking any notice of her name seems to be conditional as to whether she thinks your going to have something for her, any advice on teaching her name? Got two terriers from 7-8 weeks old and they picked names up fine but storm didn't even react to the name her previous owner gave her after 6 weeks with them, have tried re-enforcing the name with rewards which works but as soon as
  3. Picked myself up a 5mnth old whippet x greyhound collie, now she's not really had any training at all still didn't know a sit or down command so I know I've got some work to put in to pick things up but I'm wondering is it too late to try breaking her to ferrets? This is my first sight hound so completely new to this and any advise would be appreciated

Hey guys im stuck at the moment i have a 6mnth border collie X lablurcher bitch, i don't know why but i cant get her to retrieve anything at all doesn't matter what toy, ball or bone i throw all she does is run till she get to it stops and looks as if to say there I've caught up and returns straight to me empty mouthed she never picks up at all, has anybody got any ideas as to what's going on with her and any tips to help get her retrieving
  7. Hey I've not long had my lurcher she's 6mnth almost and she has a pretty solid recall alone and isn't to bad when distracted now knows sit and down commands well but the retrieve is another story she'll chase a toy but then gets to it looks and comes straight back, i know what makes her tick she is mega food/treat orientated which I'm guessing she gets from the 1/4 lab in her but I'm stumped on why she doesn't pick up and come back, any advice would be great

  9. i get the feeling your takling from the heart, not the brain.? we know with the Ban its only rabbits, but lets say pre ban you might want more than dozen rabbits, the odd fox or good size fallow of few hares, and your pet dog carnt or wont get that other quarry. So your dog calling the shots not you,?if you want to keep a dog like that well good luck to you, but not for me, why lie to your self. And i never look at them as pets, because ive had to many get killed or get smashed up while out hunting, ok if you get dog that does what you want, you will respect it and get very fond of it.Ihad lurc
  10. I don't know how people could get ridof dogs like that, I've just got my first lurcher and terrier this year both just over 5 1/2 months now i can see potential in my terrier she's been game from first walk i took her on and i saw both parents work well but the lurcher i got I'm not too sure with yet mainly cause i don't think her parents were worked and cause i got her later than i would have prefered and she seemed a bit ill treat but i know that even if she doesn't work great its not the end of the world, yeah i want my bitches to work but even if they're not great at it I'll be keeping the
