  1. I have a Nightforce NXS 12-42 X 56 RifleScope for sale, its in perfect working order and has the NP1RR Reticule as below. The scope has the illuminated adjustable reticule, sunshade, bikkini covers, Warne mounts and bases. Looking of £1200 or very near offer. Would prefer if buyer collects.
  2. Guys, I have taken a fox with the .17hmr at 188yds with a shot to the heart and lungs. It stopped it instantly in its tracks. Yes I will admit it was a very long shot for the hmr, but there was no wind and I had just zero'd the gun 20 mins earlier at 100yds and knew the drop, there was no wind so I took the shot. Bingo. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday use though on Charlie.
  3. On my initial FAC i had a 17hmr and a .22lr. After 6 months the 17hmr was sold and the .22lr was still going strong. The .22lr is very quiet and deadly on rabbits, hares, and corvids up to 75 yds and beyond. The 17hmr was very accurate if there was no wind but it is noisy and expensive to feed when compared to the .22lr. In addition I would be surprised if you could get a 17hmr for fox control as most police forces don't allow it. (Even though it stops them stone dead.) If you want my 2p's worth I would get a .22lr and a .223rem. The .22lr will stop everything up to 75yds easily and the .223re
  4. Upto 100yds a .22lr CZ 452 is a fantastic rabbiting tool. I have literally shot 1000's of them with mine and the gun will give me 1" groups at 100yds all day with eley subsonics. I am glad I didnt waste my money on a more expensive rifle as the CZ is fantastically accurate for £400, what more do you want from a rabbiting rifle. Yes an Anschutz will give tighter groups I guess but does it matter if you do 3/4" or 1" inch groups at 100yds when hunting. I don't think so.
  5. My 2p's worth, On your initial I would apply for every eventuality, I initially applied for .22lr, .17hmr and .243. In hindsight I should have applied for .22lr, .223rem and .308. If I were you I would go for .223rem instead of the .222 as the ammo is more readily available and cheaper if you buy factory ammo. You will also get a better selection of bullets and better velocity. If you are interested in deer apply for a rifle for that too. There is a standard price when you apply so as long as you have a good reason for each calibre you should get them. You should have no problem gettin
  6. I saw this rifle on the Gun Trader and it looked a really nice rifle, so I did a bit of research to find a little more about them. From what I have read online Tikka M55's actions have a good reputation for being a rock solid smooth action, so I bought the rifle with the intention of bedding the rifle into a new McMillan tactical style stock with an Accuracy International bottom metal assembly and magazine. The rifle currently has an unfired 26" PacNor 1 in 9 twist barrel and it has the delux wooden stock, the stock is immaculate as you can see. Do you think this is a good
  7. .243Win. Nice, what load/recipe? 80Grain Berger Varmint 37.5 Grains Varget Rem 210m Primers Lapua Brass Seated just touching the lands 3030fps 1631ft/lb Sub 1" groups at 200yds. 1/2MOA, nice! What was the dial up on the 340yd shot? About 4 3/4 moa? Nice shooting by the way, and that is a cracking 200yd group, you must be pleased with the whole combination. It shoots well. My scope is a Schmidt and Bender in MIL RADS Mate. It was 15 clicks if I remember right.

  9. I was out lamping last night and bagged 20+ rabbits, this morning after gutting and skinning them I decided to try and bag a few of the foxes that have been increasing in numbers on my fathers land. I emptied the guts at the bottom of the valley about 150yds from a hide I had set up and waited to see what turned up. The muntie was the first to appear, he initially came into sight at 400yds but as was working his way towards me I let him come until he was at 177yds. He got a little twitchy so I decided to put the new Schmidt to the test. The munties dropped like a sack of spuds from a high

  11. HELP STOP THE EXCESSES IN THE FOOTBALL PREMIERSHIP WAGES !!! PLEASE READ BELOW !!! Last Night on TV I watched with disgust Lord/Sir Alan Sugar investigate the reasons why footballers wages in recent years have spiralled out of all control. I watched the players , agents, managers and chief executives of the FA blaming each other for these excesses. The bottom line was that since Sky Sports took over TV coverage of the football premiership, Sky have been giving more money to each club than the entire league used to receive in previous years. Some might say its a good thing giving th
