  1. Plenty of pests accounted for..thanks for sharing.
  2. I dont think you would go far wrong with (dare I say it...) a Plummer. Theres been plenty of posts on here of Plummers ratting...try searching on here!
  3. Nice looking dogs...its nice to see dogs that have had plenty of time/effort spent on them!
  4. The gun I have seen is single trigger, 28" barrel, ejector, with multichoke. Did you use the Sporter much...and what for (game/clays!)? Thanks for the input.
  5. I think most people would think the same...as the only o/u AYA I seem to be able to find online or in shops is the Yeoman! Ive heard quite positive things so far in general about AYA's...I'm having another look at it later in the week...so may end up making a purchase!
  6. Thanks for the reply. I noticed the o/u on guntrader...the Sporter Ive seen is simular but has less engraving (if I remember rightly!).
  7. Hi all. I have seen an AYA Sporter (o/u) that I am thinking about buying. It felt good to handle and seems to be in good condition. I am struggling to find any information on the o/u Sporter...all I can find is either s/s or the'Yeoman'. Is there anyone on here that owns or has owned an AYA Sporter (o/u)...and can tell me their thoughts...and also what one is worth £££ (approx - for a good condition second hand!)??? Thanks in advance, Danny123.
  8. Good amount of rats accounted for...bet the farmer was happy!
  9. Good amount of rats accounted for.
  10. Fingers crossed for some decent weather on Sunday...should be a good day.
  11. I think that you need to focus on the basic training (recalls) and bonding with him before you even think about letting him loose on someone’s land/farm. If he isn’t listening to you (at the moment!) when out on a normal walk then in my opinion he will/could listen to you even less whilst out ratting etc…with all the scent – not to mention all of the livestock!!! Keep practising recalls with him in an enclosed space (garden!)…using praise and whatever treats he likes. Then just progress to more open environments. The more time and effort you put into the dog the more you will get
  12. Another good day out with Eli...sounds like hes doing well Good luck with the new permission. Shame about loosing your dog 'Dillan'...he looked a nice type.
  13. That sounds like my kind of night. Snaring rats...never tried that.
  14. Good news on all the kits. The first ferrets I owned were 2 jills (litter sisters) and their first (and only) litters were 14 and 15. I just made sure they had plenty of meat and soaked dry food available for them from a young age (they had their eyes closed and were coming out for the food once they got a taste for it!) All of the kits survived. Good luck with them all...your going to have your hands full in a few weeks when it comes to handling them all though.
