what time of the day do you start decoying? Havn't really been out pigeon shooting properly but now have a bit of land to shoot on..

what time is best then or does it not matter?

where i shoot the farmer says i cant be shooting before 8 in the morning so iget there at 7;30 to set up .

normaly the pigeons start to come around at first light feed till about 12 then dissiper in to the woods nearby till 3 ish.

this is just one pattern i have got to know for a certian feald i shoot .

the short answer is they can come and go at eny time of the day if i was you i would spend time to find when this is on youre land you will see a patern emerge after time . dawn and dusk are good times to be out looking.

watch the field and see when the pigeons get there, sometimes they wont turn up untill the afternoon. so it depends on when the pigeons are going to the field. but make sure you leave your self enough time to setup before they start coming in. good luck

were ever you shooting watch the fields for about 3 or 4 days to what time there feeding at

and what there flight line is so then you will know exactley what time to be there for and were to set up your hide

Same here watch the field for a few days let the numbers build up then try for a good day but they always seem to peter out about lunch time till late afternoon then you get a wee bit more sport before its time to head home
