Today's bag

Recommended Posts

A mate of mine has recently started keeping cattle, and as you know, with cattle sheds come feral pigeons!

It occured to me a few weeks ago, so I gave him a call to see what the situation was "loads of them mate, thought about giving you a call but didn't think you'd be interested". We left it at that and resolved to arrange a mutually convenient time to have a bash at them. He called yesterday and said this evening would be good. I finished up at work around 4 today, and thought i'd pop over to another piece of permission to see if I could bag a bunny before starting the feral bashing.

Had 3 shots while I was there. First one was a shot through a fence, which is not a good idea. The pellet richocheted off the mesh and missed. Second one I hit, but it managed to kick itself beneath a bush. This really upsets me when this happens, but like all of us, it does happen from time to time, and I certainly didn't intend it. Third one I bagged, about 30yards. Drove over to my mates cattle sheds and took 5 ferals for 5 shots before the light ran out.

It's an interesting looking bird for sure. They're all definitely ferals though, so the mystery continues..!

Cheers Freddy!
