jamie g 17
hi al how do you find out what the depth of your bullet should be so as it fits your gun is there a way to mesure the bullet to see how far it goes up the chamberso as the round does not hit the rifling there is a couple of ways to do it. one get a case and seat a bullet in the case very lightly just so its in abit. bolt the rifle then pull the bolt back. some times it gets stuck abit so take care and tap it out with your cleaning rod from muzzle end. then measure the oal of it .your have your answer then that will be on the lands. better way thos is to get the proper rod and case from reloading shop. the case screws on the rod you but it in where your bolt would be and your get a more accurate answer to your question then then when you make some rounds make them to that oal and see how they go. if there not that good then try again but seat the bullet deeper say 10 tho off the lands and so on till you get the sweet spot for your rifle Edited April 26, 2009 by jamie g Quote Link to post
