Bosun11 537 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Share Posted April 25, 2009 Err, I think you'll be refering to Lakeland type Terriers (black & tan), 'Patterdale' as a name for a dog was never used in it's native Lakeland until these types of terrier became popular in other parts of the country, locally they were (and still are by some) known as Fell Terriers, which is a name associated with the various crossbred terriers emerging from the Lakes area. The 'Fell Terrier' name covers all bases, including Patterdale, Lakeland (none registered) and Border/Lakeland's or any mix of these. Fell Terrier colours include, B&T, Red, Chocolate and (predominantly) Black (what I think you mean by Patterdale), though any mix of those can occur. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
