i was going to join the sacs one but after reading whats going on i might go for another . any other good value ones anyone knows of?

I wouldn't listen to what some people are saying about S.A.C.S. mate, they are by far the best to join, and, the insurance is second to none.............Martin.

And some people are blinkerd and so shortsited that they only think about themselves, the only thing they have got going for them at the minute is prices and I might be able to supply insurance in the near future for at least a tenner cheaper! (watch this space) at the present I'm in talks with an insurance broker  His last E-mail below:

Hi Tom, Underwriters confirm that our cover is operable for person using dogs for hunting and trailing purposes. They say ( as I thought) that its simply covered in the general wording and list of activities and don't want to change the wording to add the word "dogs" as they feel too many specific descriptives may make people feel non specific items are excluded, when the general provisions do include them. Provided a dog is under the control of an insured person and being used in conjunction with recreational activities of hunting, then the insured is indemnified subject to the terms of policy for P'L cover.

Regards Jerry

As usual you nothing about me and my reasoning or the cogs and motivation behind SACs? and you are really kicking the @rse out of it now Martin :censored: there's an alternative to everything including how to get cheaper insurance!! Can you explain your comments of how I'm in it for the money and in what way am I reaping a benefit and why would SACs be competition if they can't compete with the prices this broker is offering?

I worked for SACs as a volunteer without a salary and helped provide insurance for fieldsports enthusiasts of which I'm one, That!! paid the SAC's Directors wages and his expences. I'm not starting another association and providing myself with a salary "feck that" what I will be doing is hopefully helping the lads who can ill afford large membership fees a cheaper rate for insurance I don't get involved in administration and shit!! thats left to the broker. Nothings been decided yet and if someone does consider asking me to get involved in anything commercial? I may consider it? (why not?) but that has'nt happened yet, nothings been decided or set in place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is whats being considered at the moment!! I'll emphasise again, we will not be another fieldsports organisation, we will merely be directing individuals to the insurance broker therefore reducing costs by not being involved in costs and salaries for fat-cat Directors or staff. Basically we'll be cutting out all the head honcho's, their expensive four wheeled drive vehicles and huge expense accounts. I would also ask you a favour Martin, please not too infer I'm in the business of fecking ripping people off!! I have a lot of friends and associates on this forum and I don't go about pulling underhand strokes on mates or anyone else :censored:

Below is a draft of what I'm proposing RE INSURANCE:

Recently i managed to get permission with a local water authority as they have several pumping stations that have rabbit problems . One thing that was asked of me was to give proof of insurance . AS a S.A.C.S member i have cover and pm`d Tom , to see if he knew where i could get a copy of the cover i have . AS usual , Tom was more than helpful and told me exactly what i needed to know , but in the mean time i had e-mailed S.A.C.S asking for a brief covering letter . Unfortunatly , i did not recieve a reply in time , but did what Tom had suggested ( which i might add was more than adequate ) . After a week , i decided to to email them again to see what had happened to my reply , and to be honest i decided to remind them that when renewal time came around i would be looking elsewhere . I must just explain that i forwarded a copy of the first e-mail so the date was clearly on it , This is the reply i recieved ,

Dear *****

There seems to be some kind of misunderstanding here - this is the first email I have had from you, although I can see it was sent several days ago. I have no idea what happened to it, but it did not arrive here - as a rule, all emails are answered the same day they come in.

I have attached a scan of a letter which you should be able to print out and show your new landowner, and the original will be posted to you today in case your printer is not up to the job.

I have written the letter in a way which should suit your purpose - if there is anything else I can do to help, please contact me again - and if you don’t get a response that day or the following day, call us on 01698 885206 to check if we got it!

Best regards

Ian Clark

Director, SACS

The letter turned up the next day .

Buster!! on this deal the broker's have said they will supply a cover note to individuals, detailing the insurance policy a similar setup to car and house insurance policies at the present time. Please remember dealing with insurance brokers an companies on this level and on a one to one basis re: this type of insurance is new to me and I'm still hammering out details that benefits people like us, If and when the details are finalised? I'll let everyone know

all the best

Tom

Ps: Thanks for the support and confirming that I'm still helping ordinary SACs members with advice since leaving the organisation last November, Despite! not being with SACs I have a moral obligation to still help individuals whom I was instrumental in getting to join  Ian Clark is notorious for letting things slip and bullshitting on matters re: corespondence? I should know! Ian's comment "as a rule, all emails are answered the same day they come in." is completly untrue?, as a lot of the time he simply does'nt appear in the office or he's off on a jaunt somewhere at you! the members expence, its a physical impossibility to respond to people if your not where you should be!!

I had numerous complaints re: unanswered telephone calls and E-mails from members on this board and others, sometimes!! I had to bully and plead with him to respond to some members and prospective members enquiries (this is'nt about politics or me harbouring any sort of grudge or bad feeling, the bottom line is!! I can only comment from my own experience and fact!)

Hi Frankie as I said this is not the start of another association! the only remit is to provide insurance at lower rates than the associations without being tied into them

Tom

will any of these groups really help you when the chips are down? i know a lad who 2 years ago applied for his FAC and after waiting 6 mths got refused the PSNI refused him saying on his refusal letter that he was active member of a terriorist group here in northern ireland. :ninja: now he addmits he was arrested over 23 years ago when he was a young lad abot a terriorist inncident but was released several days later without charge, anyway as he was a member of both BASC and SACS he was on the phone and looking for them to appeal and take on his FAC case agaisnt the PSNI the min. both BASC and SACS heard why he was refused his FAC they washed there hands of it, but a local solicitor took it on for him and won :notworthy::thumbs: it didnt even make it to court a few phone calls and letters and the PSNI then granted his FAC, so will BASC and SACS really fight for you if accused of sumthing as serious as this lad was accused of?
