Traning Questions for new pup

Good morning to all.

I just got a new Russell pup a couple of weeks ago, he is 12 weeks tomorrow. I have been reading all of your posts for at least a month now and have gleaned alot of good info.

 

My question is what type of obedience to you all expect out of your terriers, such as sit, stay,come, ect.?

 

Do most of you keep your hunting dogs kenneled or in your homes?

 

How much obedience training do you do with your new prospects?

I will post pics of the new pup after I get my camera fixed. My 2 year old son well lets say he needs some obedience training as well:)

Think you'll find the level of training/obedience in most terriers is very low, due to them being such wilful characters.

mine have the basics but it all goes out the window when theres anything about. :shout:

I plan on hunting him as he gets older. I am just wanting to start him right. I don't believe in reinventing the wheel so I figure I can learn from others mistakes.
