BlueCoyote 0
a family of about five coons - they all looked as if they were mostly full grown. funny thing was my husband saw them out there before it was time to go out last night. he heard a noise on the hill... shined his light up there and saw eyes. he grabbed a shovel thinking he'd just bash what ever it is in the head... instead it ran away a few feet into the woods. and suddenly the eyes were three feet off the ground! naturally he was thinking maybe it was a bear after all so he went back for the gun and to tell me. obviously turned out to be nothing. i got the terrier and waited for them to come back... i knew they would. as soon as i heard them i turned on the light and let her go.. and up the tree one of them went. bad thing was he was hiding in a bad spot and it was too dark. so i left the bulldog tied there to keep it up in the tree till the next day. after the wind died down somewhat we got a clean shot.....once he hit the terrier finished him off i know, big deal lol you guys do this all the time, every day but i have always wanted to go coon hunting but was never allowed...... my family didnt believe in young girls running through the woods in the middle of the night hounds and firearms. however............... if i had known it was easier than that i would have gotten ducks a long time ago So there! my first raccoon, my ducks are some-what safer(there's still four or five more out there, but maybe they'll from this one) and i have a nice healthy raccoon pelt i have to say the terrier didnt disappoint lol she knew exactly what she had and what to do with it. ...now i wonder what does raccoon taste like? of course this one was a big boar so probably not worth it.......
