New here... hunting ground sort. Help please (",)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, after shooting targets and spinners at home I'm a little fed up. I had a stray .22 ping off and clip a neighbor up a ladder ( I know what's the chances?) anyway she reported me. Blimey I had the tactical unit round with armed police, 4 other plods and the threat of confiscation of my beloved 'Daystate Air ranger' or face a court hearing, not at all funny I'm sure you will agree.

.. I managed to calm the situation and issued an appology to my neighbor. Any way no further action was taken. But there was one proviso and that was I would not use my rifles and pistols at home any more. Sad I know when I have a right too. But not wanting to rock the boat I have not shot for 12 months now.

I know about my local indoor outdoor clubs and yes I should join. But I hanker for a woodland out door hunt, with live prey. I have asked two of my good friends with farm land and they didn't want me anywhere near. (public get cagey when they see a man with arms etc) I can see their point. Does any body know a good hunting ground with permissions or clubs that arrange such things around the North West? Well I live in Manchester.

Iv'e searched the net but have drawn a blank. would love some help please guys.

Kind regards to you all, Happy shooting too (",)

Andrew

well if i were you i would stick to targets but keep them low. i dont shoot anything metal apart from cans. but anyway just get a decent backstop like a bit of wood coverd in carpet or a compost heap (anything to stop the pellet)

another thing i want to ask is why were you shooting anywhere near the direction a pellet could go to hit someone on a ladder? you must have been shooting towards them or in the diirection of them for it to be able to hit them.

Read the BASC website.

http://www.basc.org.uk/en/codes-of-practice/air-rifles.cfm

it tells you all the laws and recomendations.
