wboulter 3
I went out to look for a deer, it was my last trip on the fallow. I arrived at first light to find a herd of fallow of about 30 grazing out in the field. I looked through the binos just to see if there were any prickets or bucks amongst them I could see there were 3 and one was feeding out to the right i estimated the distance about 90 yds. They had no idea I was there thank goodness so I put up my sticks and took my time I got myself ready took aim, you could hear the thump as the bullet hit the deer but he run on for about 60 yards then dropped i had hit him a little low but in the lungs. The rest of the deer ran off into the woods I had hoped for a second shot but it wasnt to be maybe next season. I walked over and gralloched the deer and as i was disposing of the inners I looked up into the next field and could see a fox looking around so I reached for my sako 30-06 and he stood around a bit to long and paid the price for being so docile. I paced the fox out 130 yards away. Not a bad way to end my fallow season. This could be the end of my deer season as I havent got any roe stalking I have to wait for an invite off a friend hint hint Edited April 8, 2009 by wboulter Quote Link to post
