thurso jack 3
Hi all im getting a new jack russell pup in 4 weeks time and im looking for your opinions on getting a lurcher pup at the same time, now part of me says two pups at once would be a no no, but then part of me thinks, well kill two birds with the one stone, ill only have to go through one lot of toilet training trashing the place etc etc. Whats your opinions on the matter? Guest moomin300uk
there will be folk with a lot more experience than me but I think it would be company for them both chew each other rather than your house tho you would have to train them separately and it would take up more of your time i have one pup and older dog and went from 2 walks to 3 just to get the pup out on her own for training if you have the time to Handel it i say go for it get it over with in a oner like you say toilet training
Guest MOLLY
Id personally go for one at a time, you cannot put enough time into each of them together. Some people find training very easy, i think its hard work to get your dog to the correct standard without another one to distract it and you, plus pups develop at different rates so you may not have them training at the same level together anyway. Having 2 together they will bond with each. One alone will bond with you more. Good luck MOLL.

thurso jack 3
thanks for the advice folks i guess your right it probably does make sense to get them separate, i hadnt thougth of the scenario of the terrier nabbing the quarry etc. I guess the bull cross i would like will have to wait a while, im addicted to working dogs in this form now and sometimes its hard to tell yourself no, and slow down a bit for the good of you and your livestock! right now im like a sponge wanting to soak up as much of everything as i can as quick as i can, ill give myself a good shake and wait a while! lol its just bloody hard! Although quary isnt a problem, and i can make time! feck knows, if i see a good un maybe?
