Strong Stuffs collars for the Ortovox are spot on, just about the best collar I have ever had, have been useing them since February, My hunting mate and myself use Russells and Patterdales on everything from Rat thru Muskra,t Nutria(Coypu), Fox & Badger, and these collars are durable, reliable, and easy to clean, we found that the !.5 inch are to wide, whilst the 1 inch collars are exactly perfect, we work our Quarry in Holland,Belgium and Germany. I see that you are from Kent, that is where I am from originaly, up on the Downs near Charing, If and when you get you SS collars would appreciate feedback on how they stand up to the Chalk that abounds in Kent.

Good Hunting. Rgds Dave.

Unless you've got a huge dog then I'd recommend the 1" wide one, I originally only did the 1.5" wide ones because that is the depth of the actual Tx itself and it looked a nice neat job, however, what the fook would I know about it, I just make the collars, I'm definitely no Terrierman!

I would strongly recommend that a cable tie is used around the flap when in use (they cost about £2 for a 100), not because I don't have confidence in my work, but because if a flap can be opened to put the Tx in, then murphys law says that it will open when you least want it to! So either a cable tie or a wrap of tape will ensure it can not come undone, at all, until you cut it off.

I'm onto about Mk4 of these collars now, I made a 3/4" wide one recently for a lad that he seems happy with so that may be an option in future depending on his feedback.

Hope that helps?!

The collars and boxes may well be on show at the Welsh Gamefair in June, I'll be demonstrating them by seeing how quickly you can find the Irishman I've buried the night before ......... :tongue2:

I had the 1.5 " collar originally, and used it no problems, but if you are working the dog in tight places the buckle on the collar can be a bit obstructive.I then asked SS to make me a 3/4 " collar and it is spot on.All the collar is doing is holding the transmitter so it does not need to excessive. The smaller collar is the same materials and great workmanship that will hold up to many years work.I have not tie wrapped mine up to now,not had any problems at all with the 1.5", but may do with the smaller velcro contact patch on the smaller collar.

Just to clarify chaps, I haven't got an interest in the sale of the equipment, except that I make the collars, the rest is the bit Bryan does.

I can make 3/4" wide collars with the pouch to fit the Tx, in black only and with brass buckle only.

They will be £12 each on their own inc post from me, Bryan doesn't have any so please don't pester him for them!

Thanks.
