Guest buster321c
Ultra Multi shot , great little guns , easy to carry about i have one , single shot , love it . The multi shots , some people have some difficulty with the mag indexing , apparently it is prone to sticking , can`t say myself . The shot count is different on the BSA Ultra`s to the S4-- series . On an Ultra .177 its about 35 shots a fill and on a .22 its about 40 . Air Arms S400/S410 cracking guns again , heavier than the ultra , which for hunting , if your out all night can be a bit of a pain , i also have a S400 nice to hold , because of the size ( i have a classic ) its not quite as balanced aas the ultra , but its not a problem . On a fill Im getting about 70 shots in .22 which is slightly more than the carbine but dont know how much by . Best thing to do is go to a feild sport shop and try them both for `feel ` Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
AAS410 all the way, a mate of mine his son has a BSA Ultra Multi shot and already has a problem with the mag not aligning with probe. its not 4 months old vet and not used that much either regards davy Quote Link to post
Adam-RunningDog 1
any air arms would do mate i got the s200 and it is just as good as my mates s400 maybe better it is quieter the air arms silencer anyway. but the actualy fire of the s400 i find a bit smoother than the s200, everyone for them selves Quote Link to post
beagle1812 0
BSA are excellent guns, BAS Ultra is wicked, light powerful and very acurate. I'm waiting delivery of my BSA scorpion. Best to go to your local gun shop and try before you buy, the guys and gals in the shop will help you make a good choice. Quote Link to post

beagle1812 0
Handbags down boys! My 'OPINION' is that if BSA were that bad they wouldn't have been around for over 100 years as a company! I wouldn't (and don't) know as much as a gunsmith. As I said its just my opinion. Just out of interest what is the most common problem with them? Always willing to learn something new. Always willing to learn something new. most common problem is sudden drop in power along with very tempramental mags then its blowing seals i know they dont sound much but it causes major problems. im not saying that their isent fully working bsa guns out their and i know people who use them and do well with them but on a hole if you took our repairs book and looked back for a year most of them are bsas Quote Link to post

beagle1812 0
Well like I said before it'll be best if he goes to his local gun shop and tell them what he wan'ts a gun for then they will point him in the right direction. Good luck with the gunsmith training (shouldn't be long before you're trained especially with all the BSA to work on!). Joking aside, all the best. Quote Link to post
