tictocer 0
As deker intimated, it's about wether you are shooting for sport, ie, you have blagged a farm or 2 and are happy with the shooting, so do not want to over shoot it, OR, You have vermin control over an area so have to make an impact, becouse if you don't, someone else will be on there next week. Generally shoot as many as you can, when it gets harder, give it a month, they breed like rabbits you know? Its land my family farm, recently taken on and the only bit we have with Rabbits. So it’s the first time I have done much lamping and I just wanted to get peoples general thoughts. I enjoy shooting but the aim is to get the numbers down. I have been on it once or twice a week recently, usually starting a few hours before it gets dark. I thought I was well on top of it but with all the young that have appeared this week I got 19 over about 60 acres on Saturday night and another 3 this afternoon. I'm using a Tracer Max with a red filter, would the Rabbits be less likely to run if I had a dimmer switch on the lamp? I have found that they seem to stay put if I just use the edge of the beam when getting into position to shoot. Cheers Edited April 13, 2009 by tictocer Quote Link to post
The one 8,585
WE try to leave a month between lamp visits so there no lamp shy if theres lots of rabbits we deal with them in other ways Quote Link to post
