j davies 8
just got my first longnett yesterday , handmade by runningwhippet and already supplied with hazel poles, i think Holly would make good poles as well, easy to get a hold of, very straight and strong. lots of difrent wood can be used for pegs (poles), as a young chap privet was always a faveroute. and blackthorn. but to be honest hazel is hard to beat, its usualy the streightest, and most abundent, and takes little work , for it to be ready hazel are the best you can get they are free and there is hundreds around evry were and easy to find to all mine are hazel and my purse nets to i do store them for a year first. also make walking sticks ( well i try ) i got 31 drying now Quote Link to post
