Meriln2008 0
I FOUND THESE AGES AGO, JUST STUMBLED ON THE PRINTOUTS AGAIN AND SCANNED THEM. POPOWSKI'S CROW TRAP NEVER MADE THE CROW TRAP BUT HAVE SEEN SOMETHING SIMULAR AT WORK. AND A BOX TRAP WHICH SEEMS TO WORK VERY WELL. I MADE THIS BOXTRAP YEARS AGO WITH A FEW TWEAKS. I REPLACED WOODEN BACK WITH MESH.(THEN GOT SQUIRRELS IN IT TOO) THE HOLES DRILLED IN TOP I MADE JUST A FRACTION BIGGER THAN THE TRIGGER DOWEL DIA, THEN FULLY COUNTERSUNK. THIS GAVE THE FULCRUM A BETTER SEAT AS ITS END WAS TRIMMED AT A SIMULAR ANGLE,AND THE TRIGGER WORKED A LOT BETTER. ALSO DROPS THE DOOR FASTER IF THE FULCRUM IS NOT FIXED TO EITHER THE BOX OR THE DOOR LEVER >>>>> Quote Link to post
harrycatcat 31
Would you be good enough to email the plans to me if I pm you my email address as I cant just see the measurements on them and I could also print them off when I get back to work. I would like to make what I know to be a ladder trap the first one and then make a box trap. Or tell me if there is another method I could see the measurements. Best regards Quote Link to post

Best regards The plans I've got aren't a great deal clearer for the ladder but yes I can mail jpegs to you,I had to reduce the size to post!. I'll scan in again at a higher res and keep the pic size larger. Do you want both plans?,Let me know. If it helps the dims i've gleened for the ladder trap are, Hieght= 10',Width= 9',Length=12' Ladder rungs are 8" apart except the central gap which is 8 1/2".The inside dim for the ladder width is 12". The whole structure seems to be made from 4" X 2". Entrance door appears to be normal door sort of size. There are no instructions or cutting list for it just a brief description of its use and how it works. The box trap looks fairly clear. I think the only changes I will make to it when I start this wekend is to replace the back wth a meshed door in runners (as the trap door), which can be lifted out,As I plan to put them in place one weekend and allow the targets to get use to using it,then drop in the back door and set up the trap fully every Friday after work, check at dusk, then 2-3 times a day until Sun eve when I'll remove the back door and trap mech until the next weekend. I'm going to need 15 of them for 1 warren and 7 for another one as we can't ferret either. Pm if you still need the pics. ATB >>>>> Quote Link to post
