Home made purse nets - simple advice needed

Just got a starter kit to make some Purse Nets.

 

I have been messing around for a hour or so and still no progress.

 

I know that I am putting the string on the neddle incorrectly. The string dosen't flow from the neddle when moving around the mesh to create the net. Is there any links or advice to what I am doing wrong?

 

Think it might be a long night trying to make my first net.

 

Any advice would be much appreciated
