i maybe wrong but dont b+f tell you not to trust the arrows????? i dont mind the b+f myself only thing i think lets them down is when you use them on bankings they give a bit of a dodgy reading but once you learn how to use them they are great imo

i use barryvox pulse. never follow the arrows anyways mate just switch the box on leave it on the ground for a few seconds untill it gets a number and sticks with it (unless the dog is moving) then lift at around waste heightth walk if the numbers go up walk back walk in all different directions untill the numbers get lower and lower dont bother with the arrows matey...

like everyone says ignore the arrows for the most part, espically when you getting close to the dog. as with any system i takes a lot of practise to get used to them and when your a bit stressed with a terrier underground it's never the best time to practise.

The D1 doesn't have arrows and works a bit differently to the other avalanche boxes, but it too takes a lot of practise to get the hang of.

i'd say master the kit you have.

The Ortovox S1 box seems a bit better for finding a dog or dogs, but we're just testing it out at the minute and it wouldn't be a cheap option
