Guest rexdigger
can any one point me in the direction to buy the ortovox locator and coller just been out today with a bell man the arrows direction not to be trusted i maybe wrong but dont b+f tell you not to trust the arrows????? i dont mind the b+f myself only thing i think lets them down is when you use them on bankings they give a bit of a dodgy reading but once you learn how to use them they are great imo Quote Link to post

Bryan 1,363
like everyone says ignore the arrows for the most part, espically when you getting close to the dog. as with any system i takes a lot of practise to get used to them and when your a bit stressed with a terrier underground it's never the best time to practise. The D1 doesn't have arrows and works a bit differently to the other avalanche boxes, but it too takes a lot of practise to get the hang of. i'd say master the kit you have. The Ortovox S1 box seems a bit better for finding a dog or dogs, but we're just testing it out at the minute and it wouldn't be a cheap option Bryan Quote Link to post
