hotel2zero 0
Went for a walk about 10mins ago with the lamp, no rifle, just lamp. i didn't see a single rabbit in an hour, this is on land where i can usually shoot 12-15 in 4hours. There is a fair amount of snow on the ground here, so i take it that the snow puts the rabbits off...? Want to go for a lamp later tonight but am i wasting my time? Cheers Quote Link to post
claybusers al 9
always good for ferreting they sit tight in the snow but try a blue filter if you can works well instead of a bright light reflecting of the snow Quote Link to post
Guest air gunner
If its no actually snowing i see loads of rabbits on one sight but the other none depends on the shoot. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
Just like us, the bunny (and many other animals) are not well keen on bad weather! Bunny will often go a couple of days without grub, and are always less active and spend more time down their burrows in the winter, so, seen less and eat less anyway! They suppliment the lean times by living off their fat deposits, but sooner or later they will come up for food. Light wise, just use a dimmer switch on the lamp, you will not need much light with a white snow covering, and tracks are also easy to see in fresh snow, always a help! Quote Link to post
