hilly 6
While I'm building the bird house what would you lot recommend I do for security as all I keep reading about is antis or light fingered people about and I would like to keep my bop when I get it, or is it not to bad keeping birds? Any help would be good. Thanks. Quote Link to post

Thanks. As much as you can in general terms like locks and lights and alarms but I think the most important thing is not to tell people what you keep We have a guard dog patrolling and hes a good as an alert but not immune to being poisoned so sadly its down to being about all the time and not giving anyone an opportunity. It can get very tying as the place is never left unattended. Dont be seen taking the bird from the house to the car to go hunting.. box it first and carry it out. As for whether or not its bad or not to keep them a lot will depend on the area you're in and the lengths you're prepared to go to to remain discreet and cautious . Quote Link to post

hilly 6
Reading on here and talking to people it seems the dogs are more prone to theft than birds, so is it antis that are worse or is there a market for stolen birds. Sorry to sound like asking silly questions but just want to be 100% ready when I get the bird. Quote Link to post
hilly 6
Ok have got some ideas about security but as you can guess I'm not going into details on a open forum. Thanks for the replies everyone. p.s if the bird is micro chipped does this really help, has anyone had a bird go missing and returned because of the chip? i.e worth the money to get it done.
