buy a plastic predator (hawk, owl, buzzard ect) and put it in your garden this will atract magpies as they mob predatory birds. look on hawking and falconry on this forum. you will see how the birds put their wings out to protect there kill. or scattr bread around your garden. pesonbally i don't shoot magpies because i can't eat them!

thanks pal the reason i want to slaughter them is because they rob the song birds eggs and kill them as well as stealing from their bird feeders. maybe if i trap a magpie from another teritory and put him in my garden in a cage they would try and attack him and I could get a shot off?

If you have a cat/dog and leave its feed bowl outside your magpies may be used to visiting it for a quick snack. I leave ours out at the weekend with the window of the back room open (so I can hear the magpies and shoot out of it.) Leave the curtains closed with a small gap in the middle. When you hear the magpie calling quirtly get in position and wait for them coming down to look for a free meal. :clapper: Then reload incase another one arrives to go mad at the dead bird.
