Training 2 dogs

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if those of you on here who have 2 dogs use the same commands for each dog or different ones for each?

I can see where it wouldn't matter so much when lamping, but I'm thinking of when I get another dog and am bushing or ferreting with 2 and want one to stay and one do something else.

Sorry if it's an obvious thing, but I'm a complete novice and am trying to sort things out in my head before I get another pup so I don't wreck him before he's started. :icon_redface:

Thanks, Tom.

Allways used name and command if working a number of dogs ie Sam wait, Luky fetch. I found it made playing cricket with my daughter and her friends much easier as a lurcher at down and stay 50 yards either side of the wicket saved the kids making long runs as I could send one to retreive while on stayed at down. This transferes well when you start ferreting bushing etc as they get a little more steady.
