robert1955 0
I was out after geese and ducks last night. Thought I try the new Hatsan SA, At first all was well using Eley VIP cartridges. Later on I switched to Express and the gun jammed every time I tried to get a second shot off. We ended up with four geese and three pheasants. If the gun had not jammed it might have been ten geese. On inspecting the gun and cartridges after shooting I noticed the Express were shorter and would not eject either when emptying the gun. Has anyone else had problems with short cartridges in a Hatsan. Mine is the PS magnum. Cheers Rob. Quote Link to post

DDD 4
I've found the Escort doesn't cycle very well on the short cartridges, I just changed the cartridges. Hope this is of use. Dave Quote Link to post
DELTA-ONE 1
hi mine did the same, seems to cycle better nows its been used a bit but when new it was a nightmare, just put some more carts through it . Quote Link to post
claybusers al 9
first throw you escort in the bin before it blows up on you. but the reason is all semi autos should only be used with 70mm or 2 3/4" cartridges it tells you this on the barrel and instruction book before i get the crap that your guns will cycle them some do some dont but eventually they will stop no matter what it is that is the design Quote Link to post

Why do you say throw rhe escort inthe bin? I know some people who have had one for years without fault!! Quote Link to post
gcp1972 0
I have the Luxano. Have put around 500 carts through it since new, all Hull Comp X 28g Fibre 7.5 for clays. These are only 65mm in length, but I have only had about 5 jams on the 2nd shot, so around 1%. Not sure if this is because the gun is new or the cartridge is short ? I was reccommended the Hull Comp X by the dealer I bought the gun from, and I like the price (£3.60 a box if you buy 500) and they are low recoil and clean. I was in my local dealer today, and he recommended Eley Blues, which are 70mm cases, but £4.25 a box. I would prefer to use a cartrgide that does'nt Jam at all. Has anyone, particularly Escort owners, have any recommendations? I want to use fibre wad, and I shoot clays, Sporting mainly, but some Skeet and DTL. THANKS! Quote Link to post

Why do you say throw rhe escort inthe bin? I know some people who have had one for years without fault!! check out the posts i have listed this before. i have a clay ground so i see a lot of guns. i have had 2 of these blow up in customers hands, these where not novice inexperienced shooters, but long time shooting people. 1 being 1 of my instructors you get what you pay for. luckily there where no injuries. but i have heard of barrels and actions splitting. this is my own experience and everyone has there own ideas, i am not saying they are all bad but to see 2 fall apart. i have never seen a berretta browning remington or bennelli semi fall to bits. good luck and happy shooting. and before i get all the crap i'm not interested unless you have something helpful to say dont bother.
