night moocher 41
she's at the right age now ,cant understand why you held her back . walk her up on a squatter on a windy night to give her a chance to nail it. dont send her to rabbits that are far away youl only make it harder for her . once she's had a couple of easy ones she'l soon get the hang of it. ....steve Quote Link to post

scent 509
give her the squatters ,that will bring her on and give her confidence .Give her short slips as if the slips are too long she will bark cause she wont be able to catch em .Slowly but surely build up her confidence starting with squatters pal Quote Link to post

Giving it the best start to its working life. The article is attached, see what you think, good luck. STARTING_A_LAMPING_PUP.doc Quote Link to post
Guest miller1989
Got my bitch working on the lamp Bull/Airedale/greyhound and then she got poisened! Me and a mate were catching 20+ rabbits between us,also his bull/ridge/grey! Had her out with a lad off the THL the other night hoping that it would all still be there! its wasnt my mates bitch performed rabbits were thin on the ground she still got 6,and my bitch had maybe 7 good slips and couldnt controll here speed just flat out and as soon as the bunny turned shes was 15meters behind it sliding across the grass, was like watching her as a beginner again,i wasnt happy! Took her daytime yesderday and caught 7 in no time wierd! Needs to controll her speed when lamping shes just flat out and shes extreamly fast bitch! All i can say is keep at it do some ferreting, box up the rabbits get a nice open field when gets dark and go from there letting her do some easy runs! the rabbits will not run as good after being boxed up,dog stands a good chance! hope it helps atb Miller Quote Link to post
