Just took my first bunny with it ill have to get a rifle cleaning kit as i will be usin it alot where is the best place?

Also worth checking out you tube, some good instructional videos on how to completely strip down your 10/22 for cleaning dont be afraid......youll never regret stripping down your gun for the first time it maintains the accuracy

I need to get a scope with ir reticule any advice would be gratefull lads.

You could start by looking at some of the JSR own brand at the very low end of the price scale (but still very good value for money) or spend a £1000 plus without much problem, scopes get very personal!

All I would suggest is that it's a rimfire, so no recoil to consider, and rare if ever you will be shooting out much past 100yards with a 10/22!

Hello mate.

I had one of those.

Your biggest problem is likely to be the mags siezing up due to oil, powder residue and pocket fluff.

I used to flush mine out and rinse and leave to dry.

Its a good rifle with the right ammo.

Hello mate.

Sorry but I can't answer that one as there are dozens of possible causes.

I am afraid its all down to trial and error and every barrel behaves differently.

You will find the right ammo but its unlikely to be what someone else uses in the same model of rifle.

Yeah i had a jam earlier Winchester subs seem to be going all over the place when firing at a target where as eley subs seem to be dead on why is this???

Is ALL the ammo brand new??

Winchester has a wax crud on it which may effect some guns!

Eley is known to be the most accurate in most guns!!

Hi.

I had BRNO bolt action for daytime and Ruger 10/22 for night work with a lamp fitted. I was always on foot-not sure quads were available then.

The 10/22 was light enough to hold and scan single handed allowing me to carry rabbits or ease the weight of the battery pack with the other hand.

I only ever used cci subs. BUT cleaning was important on the 10/22 because the slide was inclined to gum up and not fully close which allowed leakage and power loss.

So clean and then oil sparingly. KEEP the mags clean and DRY.

I put up a post on this last week, check it out, found exactly the same, the winnies where shooting anywhere. New gun so thought it was me. When I put the Eley stuff in problem gone :clapper:
