speedystu 0
Went out on my usual Tuesday night lamp with my last five rounds thinking i might use them all up after Sundays round of five foxes, started on first permission had a drive about and all quiet, moved down to the next set of fields drove through the gate and seen a bright orange set of eyes!! bargain first charlie of the night put the lamp on him and he never moved at all! just sat at the base of a tree happy as can be. after calling him for about 5 mins or so he still wasn't moving so we did, we moved up along the hedge parallel to him but no joy so we decided to go to permission 2. As we were moving down to exit we flicked the lamp on and he was trotting across the field, so we stop got into position gave a call he stop and bang i let a round off, followed it through and bang i hit the lagoon wtf the fox pissed off, i bloody missed, wtf , so thinking i am a twat as you do after educating the fox i continued to permission 2, got their, lamped the first field and bingo no.2 of the night, 100yds broad side shot "easy". bang, follow through and bollox miss again! wtf. It cant be the ammo has i did so well two days before, not sure what it could be? is it : the cold as its -3 and the rifle has been out side for an hour or so or: the ammo?? or: just me!! But will be going to see tony to buy some different brands and throwing some down the range to see if i need a stiff word with myself!! Quote Link to post
Sako.243 1
I have had very simmilar mate, Not sure what it is sometimes, You get into a comfort zone sometimes i think when hitting everything you shoot at then all of a sudden you miss then everything is to blame bar yourself. Couple of months back 3 foxes were missed in a night 2 by myself and one by a mate, All with my .243. So as you say the rifle was taken to the target and GUESS WHAT ? It was bang on?? Feck Knows the answer, Could be the cold, Bad couple of bullets or the "TWAT" behind the trigger? EVERYONE MISSES!! Quote Link to post

dicehorn 38
It cant be the ammo has i did so well two days before, not sure what it could be? is it : the cold as its -3 and the rifle has been out side for an hour or so or: the ammo?? or: just me!! My guess it would be the shooter, however it is worth remembering that in extreme cold conditions your fps will increase in cold weather and effect your POI - having said that, not really much at 100 yds.
