sulurian 3
Knock on the door last saturday , guy I know turns up with one of my russel bitches i thought i lost the previous Friday(8 days previous). I,d been out on the Friday when she went to ground about 3 in the afternoon in rocks on a ridge of a mountain. Had no luck finding her and because of the ground couldn,t dig shit all. Went back the next day, still could hear her baying tryed all way to get her out. Any way left for a couple of hour then went back and couldn,t hear nothing .Tried for a couple of days after and gave her up as lost. As i said gets a knock on the door and the guys got my bitch in his van. Seems she,d made her own way out and was on her way home(went to ground about two miles from house) when a bloke who knows me and my dogs picked her up off the side of the road and sold her on for £40 to another bloke!!. It was only cos my mate went digging on the saturday morning with the guy who,d bought her and recognised her straight away that i got her back.. Fair play the guy who bought her was good as gold and was gutted as he,d bought the bitch in good faith, he wouldn,t take any cash and is going to get his money back off the shit who sold her .I,ll be taking a trip over his house myself later this week..Just shows there,s good and bad dog boys out there , plus going to get some money together for some locater collers. wink hound 0
i wouldnt put a dog to ground without one. the Fell and Moorland club. they would be the first real port of call if you ever found yourself in this situation again.. well worth joining for people like yourself. if your terrier was truely stuck they have the equipmenta nd funds to help you free your dog. they could of also offered you advice over the phone, for example leaving your coat in a box or even a trap so she would look to it for warmth and could be collected at when re-visited.
