hi just got a new lurcher pup at 7 months old just wondering whats the perfect age to get him started on jumping ect...?

he is bred out of some well bred dogs

id getting him jumping asap personaly,

ive got two 5 1/2 month old pups and they have to jump a 26" board every time

they leave and enter the back yard, i will slowly move it up so they jump higher over time.

saying "over" every time they ready to jump.

good advice i always say over with fences and walls ,you could also try the pup on small sandstone walls and moving on to bigger if using small walls to start i used to get over them myself first and then call and encourage the dog,and with praise if she does it.

hi i used to put a board up in garden with dogs food at other side he would jump over straight away when he seen his bait. and just when out walking when you come up to a wall or fence jump over and shout for dog to follow. he or she will soon learn just keep at it. hope this helps.
