Rolfe 2 Posted January 17, 2009 Report Share Posted January 17, 2009 Just spent some time out with the dogs till after dark.........putting the birds back over the park wall for the big shoot and generally mooching about. It was nice to sit and contemplate the coming spring and i did notice the nights were beginning to draw out a bit now.......always a good sign. It would soon be time to think about getting into the woods and await the pigeons coming to roost........not long now till the end of the game shooting season. The old cock pheasants were making their usual noisy flight up to the roosting branches and it was quite a sight to see them silhouetted against the sky.......took me back to my poaching days momentarily. The calm before the storm........it is forecast for high winds and rain tonight........bit of a buffeting in store for the old cock birds tonight i think.
